Grabbed this from NeoGAF, apparently taken from the new Game Informer magazine:

Soap is in the game as a "grizzled vet" NPC.

Single player enemies will have "customized" weapons similar to the multiplayer component of COD4.

The ice mission shown to GI demonstrated the game's open-ended approach to combat, showing how stealth can be implemented if the player chooses.

While the gameplay is open-ended, the story is "on-rails".

Infinity Ward realizes that the "invisible line" where enemies will stop coming in COD4 wasn't great, so they're trying hard to eliminate that. Also, they are lengthening the single player past the 6-10 hour mark of COD4.

"Special Forces Mode" is a major part of MW2, a series of missions in the spirit of the Mile High Club from COD4. It will also have co-op in this mode. Gears-style bleed-out-and-partner-revive will be used.

Co-op apparently won't exist in Story Mode.

Riot shields will be implemented in the game.

Zakhaev's former associate, Makarov, is the "new face of global terrorism."

Snowmobiles are used as a form of escape in the demonstration. Unclear whether or not the player will drive, shoot, or both.

Players will alternate using the two triggers to climb ice-walls.

Movable turrets will be used in SF mode and Single Player, no official word on online use.

IW wants to implement an accomplishment system to online, as they want to make their players famous.

Online mode will use a "Live-Patching" system, where IW can manipulate spawn logic or certain parts of a multiplayer map without doing a full-blown patch.

Another demoed area shows an enormous desert setting where Task Force 141 drops into a wasteland and must navigate a "lengthy trek" to a fully-rendered valley with scattered caves, reminiscent of Iron Man.

IW is focusing on details for the COD4 sequel, citing iced-up tire treads in the Russian level.

The game will run in 60fps (duh).

no co-op campaign? and 60 fps? that's quite hard to believe...

Yup pretty surprised by that too tbh.

Dissapointing really, co-op is a must.

I'm happy there's no coop in all honesty, too many games feel it's necessary to shoehorn it in when a game doesn't need it. I wouldn't want to play a COD single player campaign in coop and am quite frankly delighted they didn't design the single player game around it. The single player COD experience has always especially relied on a good deal of immersion and coop would kill it, just like it did with Resident Evil 5 (loved the game but no tension to be found).

There's always the Special Forces mode for people who want coop action so they haven't forgotten about anyone who wants it.

Lovely little analysis vid which points out some of the things you probably didn't spot (weapons in the game mostly):

I was tempted to say this, but then when you think about it, how often in CoD4 were you all by yourself? you almost always have AI squad members about, so it wouldn't be 'shoe-horned' or forced into it like Resident evil 5.

The sniper mission on CoD4 would be the only one that wouldn't of worked with co-op as it was, they'd of needed to had a 3rd sniper on the mission (as making macmillian playable would ruin the level)

and while the co-op mode in CoD:WaW did feel a little less immersive (specially with the points!) than single player, it was by all means optional and went back to being immerisve again in SP

I can understand what you mean but the COD games are so scripted as well that I enjoy them more in single player and having that experience for myself.

For World At War you were in a squad so I can at least understand them putting coop into that but for COD4 and more than likely MW2 you are in a very small team of 3 - 4 people. These characters are also major parts of the story and it would kill the atmosphere stone dead for me if it was friends of mine playing the parts of the other team during the quiet moments of dialogue exchange.

But hey that's just me, I can understand why people want coop, I'm just selfishly happy that they didn't design the game around it and rather had a separate mode for it. (which I'm sure will be fun)

admittingly it would have been a shame to lose Gaz or Price to a mindless co-op buddy but there was usually other mindless/personalityless AI roaming about. Hell I can't even remember anyone except Gaz, Price, Soap (you) and MacMillian from the story anyway. (plus the bad guys)

i don't see why we shouldn't have both - a well rounded single player experience and the opportunity to play through the story co-operatively as well. it works in Rainbow Six and also in Resident Evil - so why spare it from a shooter based on Special Forces operations?

however, my main criticism on Modern Warfare and World at War is that they wont let you level up if you prefer to play co-operatively. it would have been great if you could gain levels and unlock stuff while fighting hordes of Nazi zombies. hope this will be corrected in MW2.

Now that sells it! Some proper variety and colour! After COD: WAW's sea of brown and greys I was hoping this would go back to some lively setting

Does look good, may even end up getting this.

But wasn't that a trailer for a forthcoming, er, trailer? Come on! Enough with this hype hype.
