They didn't say a thing, she just started in her Varia Suit without missile launchers, specialized beams or any other fancy gadget acquired before except for Morph Ball.

Some images of the intro have leaked. They show the end of super metroid in 3D. Mother Brain looks a bit freaky.

Interesting hands-on from Eurogamer there. It's piqued my interest, but then so did the previews for Prime and I never got on with that at all once I actually bought it.

enjoyed the first metroid prime from what i can remember 7 or 8 years ago but probably won't bother with this one tbh. just looks and sounds a bit rubbish really. it's never been one of my main favourite series so that's probably why i can live without it. it'll still probably end up a good solid game.

Then don't comment Everyone else, who is a massive fan of Metroid (me included) can't wait for a return to the series roots (with a new twist, granted). I don't get the negativity surrounding this game. What do you guys want? Another prime? *snore* 3 was good, but I'm getting bored of the 3d ones now.
The 2D ones are far Superior and deserve far more attention. Bring on Metroid Dread I say!! Would probs be far better than even this...

Pah, I don't understand all the cynicism, I'm sure Team Ninja will add a new, interesting spin to the series, and I'm sure people will be fiending for a fresh direction for the series to head in (I'm not saying a Retro Studios Metroid 4 would be bad, but it would probably be highly predictable).

If it's ****e, at least there's Metroid Dread to look forward to (and I hope that's more like Zero Mission than Fusion, though I'll be more than happy if it's 'merely' as good as the latter).

Prime was incredible (I remember buying the US version off of a mate who hated it along with his Freeloader for ?12 about a week after it was originally released and I clocked it in 3 days (had a week off at the time). 2 and 3 were both great but I don't remember finishing them for some reason.

I am very much looking forward to this. Team Ninja combat mechanics, with jiggle shoe horned in, set within a solid 2D environment (a bit like Shadow Complex but without Nolan North) and I'll be happy.








Although I'm sure Nolan North will end up in this somehow. It's the norm at the moment for him to be in everything isn't it?

christ. aren't you allowed to have any kind of opinion on this forum unless it's glowing? i did say it'll still probably end up a good solid game. because metroid is good series, just never been in my very top favourites that's all. it looks a bit rubbish compared to Prime which was arguably the most advanced shooter ever made at the time. & don't be soft the reaction hasn't been universally positive to other M, lots of people are saying it looks a bit rubbish, including many Metroid fans. any forum or comments section will tell you that.
