Same here. I wanted to believe this wasn't going to turn out this way, but it has. And actually a bit worse too.

Right now the PS Move (despite that also being a monumental waste of time) is probably the more appealing prospect. And after guffawing from the sidelines at GDC I never thought I'd be saying that.

This summary from the Eurogamer preview has helped rekindle the faith:

But the impression you get from the best of the games is that they are infectious family fun: they're genuinely entertaining and you want to get involved.

This need to participate is the magical ingredient that made the Wii such a hit, and Microsoft has definitely tapped into that same rich vein, but provided its own unique appeal that provides a sense of involvement that goes well beyond the fun offered by the Wiimote waggle controls.

Whether that sense of entertainment can endure, and whether developers will overcome the many and varied technical challenges of the system remains to be seen, but based on this initial playtest the signs are looking good.

Seriously wonder how much it all cost, people were shocked that Activision were spending $6mil for their E3 party. Would LOVE to hear a figure for this event, crazy ammount most likely spent.

Has any of you actually used this or know anyone who has used this new device yet? Any impressions at all of software from it?

Wonder how many lead developers Activision could hire for $6mill...

Anyhow, destructoid have ensured hundreds of thousands of extra hits with that tirade. Suspect that fuelled the rant a bit. Still, 3 hours of press people queueing and they didn't think to give them drinks. Did they want cranky reporters?

IGN were speculating Rare, given the scanning is similar to what they did with Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise

Also wonder how much of that $6million is owed to Infinity Ward.
The Destructoid video only annoyed me with Sterlings anger towards Circ de Soleil, I mean seriously vent your pain and strain against the big guys Kinect and MS, Circ de Soleil were mearly hired to provide the entertainment/advert.
Then again I don't know if I should take anything Sterling says seriously as it just seems like a big attention seeking act.

Nope, Rare didn't do Kinectimals, just sports.
