Yep (sorry, I'm not sure if I can say or if they deliberately don't want it known yet).

Sorry, but all I can think about when I read Kinectimals is that waste of space Ricky Gervais and his Flanimals.

This will be like the original PS2 eyetoy..... i.e. a test-bed for technology bundled as standard with the next generation console and utilised in every game really well.

        No, wait....

If the Natal camera was actually two cameras, eye distance apart then it could video me in 3d and, and then, er, and then feed it into my PS3 and if I got a 3d Tv then there could be a 3d version of me in a game or something and it'd be just like me only lower res and about 15 frames per second and I could hold a wiimote and it'd have me in 3d, waving a sword and I could fight myself!

I don't reckon MS thought this through anymore than that ^^^^

The slim 360 may have at least HDMI 1.3 or so the internets have it.
So that would comfirm the Crysis in 3d on 360 news if true

Wii owners that this product is targetting don't need anything 'better' for the most part, its like the big electronic companies trying to take on the $99 Flip video camera by coming out with specced up $300 models.

At xmas in Tesco the current Wii owner faced with purchasing an xbox & kinetic & game or Just Dance 2 with 40 new songs hasn't got that harder choice to make
I agree. I think MS have talked themselves into an argument that the Kinect experience is so amazing that people will want to 'upgrade' from having a simple remote to having no controller at all. If the Wii had never existed, then this might be something very tempting, but instead it's just too similar to the Wii to make people want to change.

However, all the negativity though is missing the point. All that MS have shown so far (and all that was going to be shown) is the Wii like stuff. That a bunch of games journalists didn't like getting dressed up in ponchos should be a surprise to no-one.

What will be more interesting is the actual press conference tonight, when the Kinect could come out okay, or could be finally consigned to the failed hardware bin.

As for the name. It could be worse.

I think the damage is already done . That showing was on one most shocking shows I've ever seen, it was appalling and failed on every front (bar from how to wast loads of money) . Lets not have a go at SONY for fake demo's anymore, after its so clear that Star War game wasn't being played in real time, and the worst part is that was Natal highlight .

MS better have some real games on for the console to save its E3, because right now, even the NCL fans are pissing them self's and having fun at Natal and MS expense . This could be a company worst showing at E3 since Pacman on the Cube , and that takes some beating.

I knew Natal would be bad, but to be that bad took some doing... BRAVO MS

                              Kinect games to retail cheaper.

I haven't seen the Cirque de Soleil show (you sound like you have) but I thought the idea was to launch the Kinect with a opening routine akin to the opening ceremony of the Olympics, not give an accurate representation of the thing being used.

I'm not letting MS off here, but I think there is a gulf of difference between a dance show with pre-rendered images and trying to pass off fake stuff at a press conference. If they show dodgy stuff tonight, then I agee let's throw them to the lions, but this is like judging something based on a publicity stunt, rather than the actual 'thing' itself.
