Brilliant name, obviously from Yorkshire - 'Kin 'Eck!

I can't see me getting one unless it's like ?30 or something. "Games" I've seen so far look like they'd be fun for 10 minutes or so.

Conference over, I personally think Kinect had a good showing, but then I'm a Dad with a family who will only play the types of games they showed, so I like the Wii too. I appreciate if you only like 'proper games' (worst term evah) then there's little there to get excited about.

But as a piece of tech it impressed. When the movement was very fast there was some lag, but slower movements appeared to be mapped perfectly. And I liked the interface stuff.

Granted many of the games weren't original, but most seem to take some of the stuff from Wii games and improve them, especially the Harmonix dance game which I thought looked brilliant.

I'm still not sure who it's aimed at - people with Wii's, people thinking of buying a Wii but haven't yet or people with 360's who want a Wii but don't have one (judging by this forum that last number is bugger all).

I'd buy one purely for the interface stuff but not if it's £80, I'm very suspicious no price has been announced yet.

Before the conference started, Jeff Keighly was interviewing Michael Pachter who predicted most of the conference and got it right. He also said that no price would be announced as MS were still deciding whether to go for a cheap price to get as many units in homes as possible, or start with a higher price to give them room to reduce if necessary.

Yeah I read about that, he said they were also waiting to see what Sony had to say about Move aswell.

I think they should just sell it cheap then at least people might buy a game or 2 out of curiosity.

I think cheap is the best way too, but apparently there are two camps at MS who are disagreeing with one another. Hopefully J Allard and Robbie Bach were in the 'expensive' camp.

Hopefully they can do it cheap or do some kind of rebate for Fable 3 so that people will buy it to try with that.

I suppose they've left it too late now to just cancel it completely?

Why? Clearly it's not for a lot of people on this forum, but for the demographic they have in mind it works well and has colourful, fun looking software. The issue they have is getting people to buy it against the competition, but Kinect itself is pretty solid.

Unless you only own a 360 and not a Wii (and if you have kids I'd find that hard to understand) then I just don't see why you'd drop the cash for this.

It does look fun though I guess, running on dev kits in extremely controlled and staged atmospheres.

As originally, very impressed with the tech, but see no use for it myself. No use for the games I like playing, how I like playing them.

Will enjoy messing around with one for five minute. Genuinely impressed with the tech.

Could see it having a use with the kids, but as a projector owner, jumping up and down in front of the screen isn't viable.

The games shown looked ****. A few may be fun with drunk friends. For 5 minutes. IF they're XBL titles, then fair enough. If any other them are full retail titles, forget about it.
