...cos people believed that these games related to fitness are actually accurate beforehand?

If people are actually serious about losing weight/getting fit then leaving the house is a fine start. In my humble opinion, these "tools/games" should only be used as a fun way to get a sweat on.

Seems there's a serious issue with one of the Kinectinaminamals

I just saw that price. That probably means it will cost ?130 in the UK. With the games being listed by Amazon at ?45, it is cheaper to buy a Wii.

They also list Playstation Move controllers. Retail price is ?40 so you need a couple of those if you want the "full" experience.

I can't honestly see myself getting either of these (especially Kinect) at those prices. I currently have a Wii and don't use that so much now the novelty has worn off. I suppose the only thing in Kinect's favour is that it is totally done with a camera. So, a new 360 with Kinect thrown in is likely to cost at least ?300... ouch!

Wouldn't worry about placeholder pricing at the moment, Edge article (acording to a highly place retail source) said Kinect Sports would retail for ?29.99, amazon are listing it at ?44.99.
Wonder when they will announce pricing, they have to be eyeing up GDC Europe? (August) or maybe PAX Prime? (Sept) for pricing details.

If any single Kinect game costs more than £30 then I'd say that MS have truly lost the plot.

For me, the device itself needs to be £99.99 or less.

?99.99 for a bundle at least is the highest my wallet will like, that would be if I wanted to actually buy it. Totally agree on the game pricing front.
When I read that edge article I thought it made perfect sense to price structure the games that way and it works for Wii on some titles.
Then again how much of that will be MS's decision, I'm sure publishers like MTV/EA/Ubi etc will want to push their own games out for higher ammounts due to licence usage for songs/brand names and all the other stuff they create/bundle to push these games to the mainstream.
Well we shall see over time I suppose, interesting times ahead all round.

Apparently Kinect games are going to be in purple boxes and non-kinect games will stay in the standard green box.

As well as helping to distinguish the difference for consumers, this move signals to me that MS are happy to have some differential between Kinect and XBox 'non-Kinect' games. This indicates that a different price point and even a different marketing campaign may exist between the two brands.

Just Dance (by Ubi) has a decent selection of licenced tracks and retailed at ?25 IIRC. I bought it for ?20 shortly after release when it was number 1 in the charts.

Funny you mentioned Just Dance, I was gonna talk about it.
Was gonna follow up "it works for Wii on some titles" with Just Dance pricing. Was priced at ?24.99 (went up to ?29.99 over xmas) and that has been dominating ever since so smaller price points can work for specific games, like these dancing games.
Although I do wonder how much the new Just Dance for Wii will cost when it launches later in the year.

I think it will still be ?30 max.

Publishers aren't daft about pricing - they know their ****. They know that games that appeal to us lot will sell no matter what the price (within reason) so they can price them at ?40 and reap the cash from the early adopters, then reduce the price to ?20 when the sales drop.

With the casual market it's different. They are in no rush to buy games like us, so they it's more important to charge a lower price to start with, but you can keep the game at that price for months (sometimes years) and make tons of dosh.

I do think first party MS stuff will be ?29.99 and priced sensibly it's just other publishers I am dubious about. Pending on the type of game and features with the title of course.

                                Uh Oh

                                Standing Room Only
Right now, Kinect only works when you stand. This includes menu navigation. All the cool options to grab a slider and advance through frames of a movie you are watching only work when you are on your feet. Kinect, we've been told, has problems handling your skeletal frame while sitting. The voice commands still work, but every game we've seen and even simple menu navigation have to be done with you out of your seat. That's not exactly how I want to watch my movies. If the focus for Kinect is creating games like Dance Central that naturally would require you to be off your couch, that's great. But I have to say, no one thinks "I am driving a car!" while standing up in their living room.
It can now see black people but cant see people in wheelchairs?
