Known info:
Oswald the Rabbit is annoyed that he has been forgotten whilst Mickey is a megastar. He teams up with The Phantom Blot and other forgotten characters and takes over the forgotten Disney park rides.
Mickey has to stop him using a variety of paint tools (eg he can use paint thinnner to see through walls) which are presumably applied using the Wiimote.

first screenshots are floating around.
Looks ok but... Nothing anywhere near as dark as the early concept shots
*edit*
read the mag now. Sounds interesting.
Set in a mirror world created for Oswald the rabbit and other forgotten Disney characters. Mickey visits, accidentally spills some paint thinner and leaves. The Phantom Blot then takes over this world and the world is warped by the paint thinner.
It has a karma type system where you can be a good hero mickey or a more roguish, playful mickey. Levels are based off of twisted versions of Disney World rides and you can enter old cartoons (apparently it switches to 2D when you do this).
You can rebuild animatronic versions of Mickey's friends and also get help from gremlins and Oswald's many children.Last edited by abigsmurf; 16-10-2009, 09:54.

The environment graphics are incredibly generic from what was shown green black and purple with no sign of Disney theming (aside from the movie screens that lead to the 2D levels). I quite liked the subtle Mickey re-design though (even if it isn't as adventurous as Nomura's belt and zipper one).
That said... How many polished 3D platformers do we see nowadays that aren't generic movie tie-ins? It's got a good designer behind it and a genuine love for the source material so I'll try to remain optimistic.
Should've kept a lid on some of the more creepy concept art though, would have lessened the feeling of disappointment.

A stream of the London presentation, watching it now.
EDIT: Starts to get interesting after about 12/13 minutes, going into animation and some of the gameplay mechanics. You can apparently use methods other than fighting to get through/around the bosses.Last edited by Number45; 03-11-2009, 19:26.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the early shots are deliberately bland so the hype can build up naturally rather than having spore/scribblenauts levels of constant ultra hype. There's a lot of love for Disney characters on show.
Even in the 'generic' enemy, it's the head of hades, one of the cars from the tommorowland ride and one of the robotic arms from the lilo and stitch ride.
The lonesome manor could be great, would love to see a twisted version of the Lonesome Ghosts feature.
