I enjoyed both PS2 CastleVanias, it's just a shame they were so repetitive with the tileset etc.

It's also worth noting that while the PlayStation 3 version maintains a steady frame rate, the Xbox 360 version occasionally hiccups during action sequences and cutscenes.

Curse was deffo better imo. Lament had this fixed camera that would screw me over more than once. Curse felt like a better structured adventure game.
About Lords of Shadow, I really like the demo. At first it feels kind of wooden if you're just finished playing God of War 3, but I think LoS could end up as the better game. Its supposed to be a much bigger game and fleshed out in terms of story telling, and I also like the book presentation, the VA by Stewart and the overall atmosphere. Pretty much everything except for the core fighting gameplay.
What I find stupid is that both block and dodge are under the same button.

posted in response to someone saying on rllmuk it wouldn't feel like Castlevania. Here's what I think (for what it's worth)
I guess it's what you expect from a Castlevania game really. This is structured on the old school Castlevania (smaller levels frequent boss encounters) as opposed to the Metroidvania titles that have been around for the last decade plus.
The gothic European countryside is just what you'd expect from the series, as are the monsters. Yes the combat leans towards God of War, but what's here is very, very good and let's face it, if you were just stuck with whipping everything people would say it was rubbish. I've not heard any recognisable music yet, but what is here is highly reminiscent of the franchise and it still feels like a Castlevania soundtrack.
Just got to the first titan and it's suitably epic.
If you can remember the series far enough then the Castlevania series has always been about change, so I've no problem at all with this, espeically when it's this atmospheric and beautiful. There are plenty of reasons to revist past stages, exciting boss encounters and genuinely good cut scenes.
More than happy with what I've experienced so far. When reviews keep saying it's not a typical Castlevania game it just makes you wonder if all they've ever expereinced is the Xbla and handheld games...
