Believe it or not, it does matter - I don't think I could stand it if I had no choice but to listen to the generic anime cliche phrases of the Japanese voice track.

It quickly got stopped and switched to english on the previous version too.

In any case, the story of Blazblue makes up quite a lot of the game content, so without english that would just mean a whole lot of annoying dialogue skipping. Better to understand it and try to get SOME grasp of what the hell is actually going on.

I hope they do the unlocking better this time, rather than making you have to go through and read every single optional line of text for every character...

Just had a gander at the trophy list - there's some repetition of the previous game trophies which is a little lazy (1.21 gigawatts returns for example) but I'm glad to see there are no "win X online matches in a row" type ones - they can be a nightmare when you come up against ragequitters.

Unfortunately the hardest of the rank trophies now has a target of 50 - I think that would have been well beyond my ability on the last game (although I stopped playing ranked matches after I hit 30 so can't be sure).

I picked up the original Blazblue because I wanted to get in on the ground floor with a new fighter - I guess that will have been a wasted effort if I don't attempt to grow along with the series!

Decision made - will buy. If you guys are expecting it on Friday it must already be in the shops in Japan, right?

It's the training mode that I want bilingual for. I played the original with Japanese voice overs but English text, and I'd like to do the same again.

It's out in Japan July 1st. Stores like Yes Asia and Amiami received stock and shipped the day before. Mine is probably flying over Russia right now.

Aksys FAQ states that the JPN version will have English voiceovers for battles, but no English text.
Regarding the complexity of the storyline...even after playing the whole story mode I had to read a summary to get the sense of the whole thing.
Truth to be told, I'm getting the JPN LE version for the Nendroid only. Will concentrate on online matches (probably with a dedicated JPN account, I don't know if mixing JPN and US version on a single D-card is possible) and leave the story for the US version.

41 (or 42) was my limit. People either quit when seeing Nu as favorite character, ragequit or I couldn't simply match other 40+ players.

I went through Aksys' official FAQ and 100% story mode doesn't force you to lose every round, just matches where you need to unlock new paths.

I was expecting mine for today, still in Hong Kong at some DHL heliport. And next week I'll be in Switzerland, so I won't be able to even open the ******* game and assemble the Nendroid.
Not happy.

Hazama's appearance and movement are based on Michael Jackson, and all he does is insulting and terrorizing the other combatants.

Are you saying that the US version has extra content? You say "you can only change voices to English" as if it was a good thing, making me unsure which version you're talking about.

I read up about the language options and decided not to get the Japanese edition after all. Very strange and annoying that they would undo all the great work they did with Blazblue:CT which pretty much set the bar for cross-regional compatibility in games.

Still waiting on those impressions in a first play thread by the way!

The story of the first was pretty decent and I also saw that the mission mode (or whatever it is, maybe command practice) of BB:CS is in full Japanese, thats why I don't want a JP only version.
