Enjoyed the buzz of importing and waiting for it to come, tracking all the packages like a kid waiting for his presents at Christmas. I can't wait to see what this thing does in the future, FPS's on it are going to be immense. Oh, and it's the only handheld i've ever used that fighting games were actually playable on!

As mentioned, the 3DS was written off and is now doing well. As per usual though, people love to focus on negatives even if they're big or paper thin ones. Just get a grip and enjoy the amazing tech we have to use.
I was looking for a single line in your post I could quote that summarizes my feelings towards the Vita but couldn't so in quoting the whole post for truth.

It truly is the best handheld I've ever owned and the only one to not give me hand cramps. 4 hours straight on Uncharted without a twinge is bloody impressive!

Sony will have spent too much on R&D to have this fail so think about Xmas 2012 and the amazing games we will be enjoying. I'm hoping for a Ratchet & Clank, Jak & Daxter, Resistance etc. If Near can turn into something as addictive as Street Pass I'll be amazed and entertained!!

Good to see everyone is so positive. I can't wait for Feb 22nd. I convinced myself I didn't need one with the vast numbers of handhelds I have but all it took was the ign 10 minute video of uncharted being played and I was scrambling to get trade in credit to pre order!
I am going for wifi model with uncharted, wipeout and dynasty warriors next (also looks lush :-))

          Dear Bordersdowners,
My wife would appreciate less positivity about the Vita, the purchase of which would greatly affect her ability to spend my money on frivolaties such as food, crazy expensive women haircuts and anything else she chooses to buy.
          Thank you for your attention.

The Hut have reduced all their Vita items. Not a huge savings, uncharted is ?35 and wifi vita ?219, and but hopefully its the first shot in a price war

i do find the negativity (on various forums) surrounding the vita right now quite amazing.
back when sony announced the price i seem to remember everybody being quite happy about it, considering what you get, and only ?10 more than a 3DS! (at the time). now all of a sudden, everybodys down on it.
exactly the same with the launch line up. its not even out over here, but nobody cares about them now and are moaning about there being nothing afterwards. i'm sure we'll hear about more games sometime after the thing even launches.

i'm well jealous of the people that have already imported, but i'm hoping there is even a little bit of competition with prices when it actually launches here. i pre-ordered at play.com when it was first announced this time last year, but i just cancelled it the other day. not because i dont want it, but because theres now a tesco 5 minutes from my door, so i can just get one on the way to work instead, and hopefully it'll be a little cheaper too.

everybodys golf 6 i wants it bad.

Yes but things change, the market has changed cause the 3DS has come down in price now, i think
Sony need to bring this down to at least ?200 now and we all hope a price war starts from there, im not sure i want one or need one, i will wait to see it in the flesh and actually playing it before i purchase.

The Vita still isn't expensive for what you get, but some facts about the device started to surface when time progressed. Such as the over priced memory cards you pretty much need to buy along with the Vita as most games won't even work without it. The games are a tad expensive too, this is a handheld device after all. I think Uncharteds RRP is pushing it. For the core enthusiasts there is the hassle to change regions for content.

And, ofcourse, its main competitor dropped well below the 200 USD level which has its obvious psychological effects on the consumer.

The launch lineup is actually good, but it won't win new souls over. Also, the criticism is mostly aimed towards the period beyond the launch lineup. There is not much known and Nintendo seems to be extra aggressive with its capturing of third parties this time around.

I've been mulling over the Day 1 scenario some bit and my pick up list has changed to:

                      -Playstation Vita Wi-Fi Model
                      -16GB Memory Card
                      -Wipeout 2048
                      -Uncharted Golden Abyss
                      -Ridge Racer
                      -Modnation Racers: Road Trip

I might axe Ridge yet, but so far it's a grand sum of ?26

Considered it but I'm not a big Golf game fan so not sure it'd be worth it for me

That seems insane. What exactly would one need 3G for? Could it possibly be worth that?

2GB limit? That's poor. I have 12GB on my phone here for the same price, possibly a bit less.
