24,000 yen = roughly the same as the 3DS. Nintendo have some things to think about.

249.99 Euro. Which is what the 3DS is. Might be ?220-?230 UK.

Seems to be matching the 3DS price everywhere for the wifi model

Apart from almost everywhere is selling 3DS for under ?170 now. Not that they are competing with each other anyway

I'm just talking RRP. PSV could see price drops too depending on sales.

            Just Add Water tweeted saying...

"Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee and Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath coming to PS Vita this holiday season, with cross platform cloud saves."

            Is this a trend starting?
Having to buy games twice to use cloud saves, or being able to make bundle deals on PSN for PS3/Vita versions.

PSN titles require one purchase and then can be installed on different systems im sure these cross platform games will be the same.

This thing better not be region locked.

Not to sound stupid, but what are the differences between Wi-Fi and 3G?

Wi-Fi I'd need to find a hotspot or router, correct? 3G is anywhere through mobile phone masts? I haven't owned a mobile phone in years btw, so this technology is beyond me.

Basically yes. For the wifi you need to be somewhere with an open access wifi spot, or at home on your own wireless network. 3G just uses the mobile phone network instead.

The Kindle has the same deal going.

Don't really see the point in 3G for a console from a gamer's PoV. The game downloads are too big, the only play too unreliable and laggy.

However it does allow it to be subsidised by the carriers. Getting a PSV for 'free' on a 24 month data contract will get a few sales.

If they go that way. The Kindle 3G is basically free 3G all the time, no contract or anything needed.

oh yeah I understand that but what I am asking is they are saying there is a specific Vita version of the game that you can use Cloud and carry on PS3 version but surely that means they will be seperate games, sold separately?

How do you get games on it then? Is it all pure downloads via a PSN store? If so then it will be region-locked of sorts depending on which account bought the content. (Anyone how has downloaded demos to a standard PSP knows this is a massive pain in the arse!)

The specs on the offical UK Playstation site says it has a "PlayStation?Vita card slot" as well as a memory card slot. Assume games will be available on cards as well as via download.
