Not sure but I think people have to access it through a paid provider like a mobile company. Given the net speeds on my mobile mine would be no faster than the wifi model, lol

Sony have said they don't anticipate making any money from the PSV until about three years into its lifespan
The PSP took forever to build momentum and PS3 ports would be a bad error
Unlike Nintendo, Sony can absorb the costs of mistakes because of the size of the company and the range of markets they're in
I think the Vita is a must buy, but I worry about the price of the games (don't like the idea of paying ?50 for HH games) , and while the business model would never work I would like Vita code to be included on PS3 games and you just send the game over, so if you bought says Drakes once on the PS3, you would need to buy yet another copy (if it was just a port ) again for the Vita.

I dont think its viable for companies to add a Vita version on disc at no additional cost. I do think what would work, however, is to sell PS3+Vita versions together for ?10 or so more over the PS3 RRP and bundle the game with a Vita download code. Afterall Sony are claiming simultaneous PSN and hard copy releases for the Vita.
For me, this way the developers can get something from a Vita port and it'll add to Vita library and help people to purchase both versions as I think most people will feel a little irked to pay top dollar for both versions...

portable gaming ....well with games i like to play on a big hd tv screen there are not really times where i get the chance to play gaming on the move
so with me if the vita just had conversions...well i would have the ps3 games anyway so no point if the vita did have exclusives i would actually be annoyed cos i would want them on the ps3
i do have to say the price point and tech are just right i mean it does look so good i would be tempted (people saying how good the screen looks) would want to know what the 3g would be like here in ireland
the 3ds what tempted me for that was the fact of 3dgaming and watching 3d films but untill they release a bigger screened 3ds i will wait

The PSP picked up in Japan when it became associated with a platform exclusive, Monster Hunter (which did move to other platforms later...).
They talked about this in the post-e3 episode of 'Bonus Round' on gametrailers. The Vita needs something awesome that you *can't* get on PS3 or why not just buy it on PS3?

What I'm curious with when it comes to cross platform play is how it will work. Will they expect people to buy the game twice or will they spend all that money creating the PSV version to then give it away for free with PS3 copies? It's an awkward proposition given the work involved. A good look at the E3 vids shows the PSV is an incredibly impressive handheld but it's not as powerful as the PS3 so there's costly work required to make them suit the format.

Hirai seems to talk out of his ass.
Yoshida: At the very start of this project a bunch of us core members went to Japan and spent a day discussing what it is that we wanted to achieve with the new PlayStation portable device. One of the goals was to hit the right price point, which was actually $250. So at the very beginning we agreed that we're going to hit $250. But during that time we were still recovering from the difficultly we had with the high cost of goods with PlayStation 3 where the company lost a lot of money. We asked consumers to spend a lot of money to purchase what, at that time, was bleeding-edge technology. That was great from a technical standpoint but the technology has to mature enough so that a reasonable price can be put on the performance.
For Vita, the price on performance was something we definitely wanted to hit, although we all agreed because we are PlayStation, people expect better graphics and prettier pictures, so we have all those things we wanted to achieve in terms of capabilities, but we capped our ambitions with a cost of goods target that we can profitably sell the hardware for $250.
To answer your question, we set out a goal: Yes, we're going to hit the $250 price, and no, we don't want to sell the hardware with a deficit. That's a goal we set out to do and I'm very happy we are achieving that.
IGN: So you're going to be profitable with each Vita sold?
Yoshida: We haven't completed the hardware development. It's like 98-percent done in terms of hardware, and on the system software side and network code, we have a few more months to work on that. We don't have the final-final answer to that question, but the way we are projecting it seems like we're going to do pretty well.

The only PS Vita launch title I'm aware of is uncharted which is a fantastic series, and likely to be better than anything original the 3DS has seen to date. You don't need to be a fanboy to enjoy an amazing game.
