For comparissons sake, the PS3 has 256mb system ram, 256mb vram. After this cut, the Vita will have 256mb system ram, 128mb vram.
The Vita will also have a smaller OS and will have a much faster media read speed than the BDRom.
Other things to consider: The Vita appears to be around 2/3rds as powerful as a PS3 based on developers comments and games shown so far. The Vita's display is 0.5megapixels, the PS3 at 720p is 0.9megapixels. Vita games will also be smaller budget and FSAA won't be used as heavily (higher DPI = Less noticable aliasing).
More ram is almost always better but I can't see this affecting games a great deal

The PS3 BDRom read speed is 72 Mbit/s (9mb/s)
An M2 based memory card has a theorectical read speed of 160mb/s (20mb/s) Although that varies much more than the BDRom speed. Memory cards also have the mega advantage of instant seek speeds for random access whereas the BD has a bit of latency.

505 Games has set a MMA Supremacy release for PSV for 'this fall' which has started mouths flapping about the handheld launching this year over here. One thing it is 'Supreme' in, is being supremely unlikely

To be fair, the 28th Oct has been doing the round thanks to the already dismissed MMA Supremacy rumour. I wouldn't say it's too likely a date and the lack of software in that listing despite it only being 2 months doesn't hold much promise. If the unlikely happens and it's released in October I'd 100% cancel my pre-order. There's frankly too much due out at that time of year that far surpasses anything lined up for the PSV, would be better to enjoy the Xmas line up and wait for the inevitable post Xmas bundle deals
