In general though I think all these devices are going to go through a rough patch soon, over expensive, market is flooded by great quality smartphones already and most people are happy with their smart phone and home console. I really don't get mobile gaming anyway I never had even from the Gameboy days. Now its more powerful but the games are still not up to the quality/design seen in the home console market or even some more advanced PC indie games.

Cause the flip side of that says that the 3DS (6 month price cut) proves that people are NOT willing to spend money on new gaming handhelds, even when they push new technology.
Apple have a totally seperate market to everyone else, they can't even but put beside Nintendo or Sony anymore. They have money, business and fashion and even more on their side.
Could I go into a business and say the 3DS or Vita will change the way they show training videos or sell products in-store? Na I couldn't.
+1 sale for iPad, now times that by the requirements of said store, maybe 3 per store over 150 stores that's 450 iPads sold.
Flip the coin again and say are there REALLY people out there who have spent upwards of ?400 on an iPad to JUST play games on it?
        Doubt it very much.
Vita is going to have a very tough launch indeed.

Update: Game has offered Eurogamer an insight into pricing and how you'll receive the digital PS3 content.

I'm just going to plonk this in here as it'll likely end up being pushed as a PSV incentive. Sony has signed an exclusivity deal with GAME to sell digital versions of it's games instore. Basically GOW Collection will be on the shelf as a purchasable code which can then be redeemed instore. Another completely stupid decision, watch everyone pick it up rather than the disc version on the shelf next to it for at least ?10 less.

            http://www.sys-con.com/node/1947549 (warning, irritating ads)

512mb system ram 128mb vram confirmed.

            That's more than the PS3 and 360

Nice that it's not been cut but probably nothing too affecting overall, it'll never outperform either format.

I've got to say, though I'm still going to get one it's become clear that for me the games line-up is more lacking than the 3DS's is/was. Currently there's not much in the opening 6-8 months window that I'm fussed with.

So... there is a new €99 PSP coming with no Wifi support. For some reason I want to buy it, maybe because it has a UMD drive again but I really shouldn't.

Have they said the new PSP has a UMD drive? None of the photos I've seen of it show one way or the other...

Having never owned a PSP, I might actually be interested in getting this new cheap one for all the RPGs and other quality games I've missed in all these years.

Edit: Yeah Flabio, Sony has confirmed it plays UMD and downloadable. It also says "UMD" in small letters on the back of the machine.

Indeed it does, check second photo:

Sony introduces a bare-bones PSP that is more retro than the full version PSP 3000 for the European market this holiday season. But you won't believe where they cut the fat.

Depends on how you go about your PSP gaming, the UMD support is a major advantage if you're not 'downloading' games but if you are the Go is a nicer proposition considering the price they can be had for now

Any official dimensions of it yet?

The Vita comparisson pic seems to indicate it's possibly slightly smaller than the 3000

I've not seen anything dimensions wise yet, I'm presuming it uses the Go's screen though

will the battery life be better in the new psp ?

It's possible they've heavily cut down on battery size to save costs and space but I'd be suprised if it's under 6 hours.
