Anything is better than the battery life on my launch model one... If this hits here under 70 quid I might be tempted to switch to it.

Loving the look of that D-pad, nice and raised. Whats the PSP homebrew scene like these days? This could be a nice machine once hacked methinks . . . .

I imagine it'll need to be hacked again from scratch, regardless of what the scene's like these days. And since it's a Europe-only model, that'll reduce the number of people that care enough to do it.

Just found out a friend of mine is headed to Japan in Feb and knows a few places where she might be able to haggle the price down a bit from the ?200 asked for. That's me sorted

Bigger than the PSP 3000 slightly, I am disappoint.

The brightness adjust controls are gone. Hopefully the actual buttons are a bit more responsive.

You can do the brightness on the 'start' screen anyway can't you?

Bit cheeky referring to it as the PSPMini then

To be fair, it was me that called it the PSPMini, I don't think Sony have given it an official name other than PSP at the moment.

Is the main purpose of this just that it's cheaper then?

Pretty much yeah. Not sure why they don't think it's worth putting out in the US or Japan though.

How can they remove stereo sound and wifi, and yet still end up with a bigger, heavier PSP? Absurd.

Higher density silicon chips are physically smaller but more expensive? Maybe they're using cheaper bits here.
