Seems unlikely they'd region lock it as it probably helps sales more than it hurts them. That and the 3DS gets a lot of backlash over its locking.

Looking at that list of titles, I find it incredibly hard to see how the Vita could fail in Japan at the moment. Continuing the trend of popular niche titles from the PSP as well as mega sellers like FFX (isn't that the highest selling FF to date?).

i want it bad, but so close to christmas i might as well wait and see when it launches in europe. if its not more than a few months i can wait (assuming region free)

Well I was sold before TGS and now I'm ready to pre-order a Japanese model for release. Thats a surprisingly decent launch line-up too.

I think I'm going to hold off till my friend goes on hol in Feb and have her pick one up then. I'll not only avoid import tax but it'll be in my hands close to the UK launch for ?200 with all the games

I'll opt for Ridge Racer, Uncharted and DJ Max I think

Yep a Powerful Job end console at a great price with a list of features, SONY pulled of a blinder, my only worry is the price of the games . They really should come in at the ?20 mark, but I doubt it. Anyway got mine pre-ordered , loved the PSP

Looks like the pre paid time on the 3G model expires after a set time if you don't use it and you have to pay for the connection fee each time if you don't. This has swayed me over to getting the wifi model again, which means I can use the money saved on another game but what to buy hmmm. Another thing to consider is do a join in the madness of an instore launch or just order off Amazon.

Btw, those of you lauding Sony on the price, have you seen the price of the memory for this thing? A decent size card will add another fair bit of money to the overall price.

Anyone know of the WiFi model has any missing features? So long as it doesn't I'll go WiFi too as I just can connect the console to my iPhone if I need to be connected somewhere without WiFi...

Forgive my ignorance but there doesn't seem to be as much in the works by Western developers as I would have expected there to be. That's not a complaint by the way. So perhaps the list of launch titles for a US/EU release will have even more (or substitutions at least) of the above.

A few reasons for the lack of Western games:

-Lots of the Vita games would've been in pre-production for the PSP and would be straightforward to upgrade.
-This was a Japanese conference in preperation for a Japanese games show that starts tomorrow.
-Big Western developers just don't tend to put as much focus on portable games.

I imagine when Sony hold a Western launch announcement event or unveil the lineup, it'll have a much higher proportion of Western titles.

The price of memory cards doesn't bother me too much as it's not like the PSPGo, unless there's a reliance on DLC (unlikely) I'm never going to use much of what's on the system

Pretty sure CoD was one of the first games announced for it. Don't know if it would be a direct port of the console versions though. My most wanted are Uncharted DJ Max Technica and Wipeout but sadly only one of those is a launch title. If Ridge Racer is an all new game and not just another rehash of Ridge Racer 6 like 7 and 3DS were then I'll definitely get that along with Uncharted.
