512mb is plenty, same as the 360 and ps3, double that of the ipad and 4 times the 3ds (ish?)

really looking forward to this after the downer of the 3DS launch titles.

keeping my fingers crossed for a tv out capability like the go.
thats got to be the future, portable and home on the same machine.

region free is the other biggie of course, i dont really expect to know that stuff till close to release, but with the ps3, hopefully sony have seen the light regarding that now.

Odds on them releasing a price and date tomorrow?

It will be really good to see the reveal tomorrow but the one thing that's going to be on everyones mind once they've seen it is going to be... how much!?

As somebody who still loves and plays his PSP most days I'm really excited by this but on the other hand I'm terrified at the potentially crazy price it might have if those specs are real.

I will predict £279-£299 (nothing people didn't pay already for import PSP's on launch) I reckon we won't get to hear launch details or prices until E3.
It will literally be a look at the PSP2, footage of games maybe, more details at E3, end.
Oh and PSP Phone, PS3/PSN news, it's tonight/tomorrow 6am no?

Yep. We definitely won't get a price tonight & maybe not even at E3 depending on the launch date, but a look at some of the games in production & confirmation of a worldwide release would be nice. Announcements for MGS5, Shenmue 3, something by Bungie, a Final Fantasy VII remake & online/network services integrated with/ran by STEAM would get it noticed. Or they could just show us a publicity photo of it, with a mock up screen shot of Gran Turismo Mobile 2.

I get up at 6 anyway. Who's streaming it?

Oh I had forgot about Steamworks on PS3, interesting they could pump out some nice wee games from Steam onto PSP2, that's getting ahead of ourselves now.
I will just be curious to see it, see it running a game or what they look like and expect date/price at E3 for a Sept/Nov 2011 launch, try and ruin Nintendo's Xmas.

                    Absolutely no chance.

I'm with Family Fry on that. I'd say very close to the £300 (€350) mark. I actually wouldn't be hugely surprised if it were even a little more. They'll be dressing it up as the top-end shiny gourmet handheld. Sony love shiny and expensive.

My guess is that they have learned (a little at least) from past errors now, and will use this chance to be as cheap as Nintendo. Can't see it getting priced at more than 250 dollaz. Might seem early to announce price at this point, but they pretty much have to, if they want to steal some thunder from Nintendo.

                        Games on display:
-New Resident Evil game. The one announced at E3 for PSP, and have since gone dark.
                        -Ridge Racer 14
-Generic online FPS game, with an impressive number of players on each map (16vs16 maybe), maybe under the SOCOM or MAG branding.
-Little Big Planet 2 Portable. Lets you play on the SAME MAPS as the console version.

i cant imagine them putting out a price or date.

i think it will be a very brief look at the hardware, with a few videos. uncharted must be there. i'd love it if there was a new ridge again too, but namco might not want to detract from the 3DS title quite yet.

Pretty sure Resident Evil Revelations for 3DS IS the RE PSP game Capcom announced a couple years back.

That's actually a lot for a handheld. When you consider the 360 has 512mb and it runs at 1280x720 for most games....

                                No chance, really?
Original PSP was ?179.99/$250 and that was quite a premium for 2005 (with people paying upward of ?400 for imports at the time) are we saying with all this new modern tech the PSP2 will be around same price as launch PSP or even around same price as 3DS?
I don't think it would be ideal for Sony but if they threw out a lovely design, good screen, decent battery, powerhouse processor/ram and online PSN networking it would be initally aiming for the higher end disposable income market, like the original was initally.
I am excited to see it, dare I say only cause I feel (I may get cained for saying it) that Nintendo have become somewhat lazy in the handheld market in terms of their own software pushing their own hardware, least with Sony I feel they still have something to prove in this market.
