    Gaming in 2010?

Yep, the title is a broad sweeping question about next year's gaming.

I think 2009 has been a good year for games in general and I'm just wondering what people are looking forward to in gaming next year? There's been a few late 2009 games delayed until Christmas 2 early in the year which I think have potential and we already know of some that are going to be released later in the year.

Maybe there's some unannounced sequels that like to get a release next year?

The first thing for me in 2010 is that I'm just not going to buy as many games as I have done in the past, it's quite clear if people check my Trophies/Achievements that I start loads of games but then move on to other games before finishing them so I have shelf of half played games which I really want to work through.

I've been pretty good the last of months with it but bought Borderlands [360] & Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition [360] as they were both ?17 and I didn't want to miss them.

The game I'm most looking forward to in 2010 is possibly Crackdown 2 as I was such a big fan of the first game. As I loved so much though I find that I'm really nervous about the second game as I'd hate for them to get it wrong.

It certainly looks promising though so I'm feeling positive about it at the moment. I'm loving the things that I'd describe as the new "toys" in the game which will make messing around with stuff really good fun.

I'm usually a big fan of driving games and I think 2009 was a good year for them with the latest really good one being Forza 3 which I've enjoyed though I do feel that they've simplified things a little more than I would like. It's probably the best driving game of the year though and definitely worth playing.

I do think that there is a lot more that can be done with driving games this generation though so I'm half betting on Gran Turismo 5 doing some of that after reading hands on reports with recent builds.

Not long ago it was finally given an official release date of March 2010 (Japan) which can't come quickly enough for me to be honest. I've got cars unlocked in both GT Prologue & GT PSP but I'm not quite sure whether I'll want to transfer them across as slowly building up a garage is a part of what I like about the game. I keep thinking that then I remember that there's nearly 1000 cars to unlock in GT5 which makes me want to unlock what I can automatically.

I'm absolutely loving the look of Mass Effect 2 at the moment but I'm not planning on buying it at launch as I've probably only played about 4 hours of the first game. The first one is another favourite of mine but another game which I stupidly left behind to start playing another game hence what I mentioned above.

One game that I would really love to see in 2010 but I don't think it's had a release date yet is The Last Guardian. I don't really know much about it apart from the fact that Fumito Ueda is creating it but that's all the information I need really.

Another game that I'm really looking forward to in 2010 is Heavy Rain. This is another one that I'm really nervous about at the moment because even the hands on previews have been really positive I still think it could end up being either really good or really bad.

I'm really going to mention any particular games in this one but the PSP go (Stop laughing) has really got me back into handheld gaming after messing around with both a PSP & DS in the past without them really holding my attention.

There is one game in particular which I am looking forward to on the PSP and it's Loopop Cube. We had the DS version just before we got rid of the DS and it was a favourite of mine so I'm looking forward to trying out the new version.

I'm still very cautious about things such as Microsoft's Project Natal & Sony's Wavy Wand Thingy but I'm not going to dismiss either until I've got a good reason to. The price and what sort of gaming support they get will dictate whether we end up with one or both in our house.

There's probably loads of other games that I just can't remember at the moment but right now these are what I'm looking forward to next year.

Anything in particular that people are waiting for or are that they are hoping will be announced at some point?

For me, 2010 is looking like one of the best years ever for games already. So many good games getting released due to a lot of titles getting put back in 2009.

Looking forward to: The Last Guardian, GT5, Alan Wake, Mass Effect 2, Diablo 3, Super Mario Galaxy 2, The Another World (by Level 5) and hopefully we'll hear of the next installment in the Shin Megami Tensei series or better, a game released.

Also, hoping to see something from Half-Life EP.3. But we can all wish...

Some great games to look forward to in 2010. I am looking forward to Mass Effect 2, Bioshock 2, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Alan Wake, Gran Turismo 5, The Last Guardian, Crackdown 2, Red Dead Redemption, Final Fantasy XIII and God of War III.

Loads of quality titles there eh? That being said the title I am most looking forward to is Heavy Rain. After playing it at the Eurogamer Expo and listening to David Cage talk about it, I just can't wait to get my hands on the full game.

If your GT5P, GT PSP, and your GT5 are not the same region then you won't be able to transfer anything anyway.

As far as gaming in 2010 goes. I'd imagine I'll be collecting up loads of stuff I never bought in 2009 apart from the really big name must have titles.
          Kept you waiting, huh?

First and foremost I'm looking forward to (rather predictably) Super Street Fighter IV. On a fighing theme I'm awating the pal release of Blazblue, and I'm quite interested in Bayonetta.

Dead Rising 2 may be interesting and also looking promising is Just Cause 2. Lastly I'm keping an eye on Red Dead Redemption, as I was a big fan of the first game, although I don't know how much the new game is going to have in common with it.

My GT Prologue & GT PSP are from the same region and GT5 doesn't have any region yet as I don't own it so I should be OK.

              EDIT:
I'm not sure if it will be the same but other games where the PSP version has unlocked items on the PS3 version have been cross region compatible. It may be different with this though I suppose.

                  Mario Galaxy 2.
                  God of War 3.
                  Bayonetta.
                  The Last Guardian.
                  Super Street Fighter IV.
                  ESP Galuda II.
                  Final Fantasy XIII.

Plenty there to get me excited with even more to come I'm sure. E3 2010 should be great!!

First and foremost, Super Mario Galaxy 2...but I'd like Nintendo to take their time and make it really really really good, so if it's out in 2011 no harm done.
Espgaluda II for the X360, due in February; hopefully Q1 2010 will also see the release of BlazBlue Continuum Shift. Valkyria Chronicles 2 and Yggdra Unison are two games I hope someone will translate, but I doubt Sega and Atlus don't like money that much
Chaos Rising, the expansion of Relic's Dawn of War II will hit PCs during March. Then there's MechWarrior, on which I have mixed feelings...and not really sure if it's scheduled for 2010. Other games I wait are the X360 port of Senko no Ronde DUO, G.Rev's Seisou Kouki Strania (X360?), Supreme Commander II (PC), Sin and Punshiment II for the Wii...it will be a busy gaming year.

The result of the "Oh ****, Modern Warfare 2 is out in November. Let's delay our game" effect means that it's not just Capcom who have some big hitters due in the early months of 2010.

Already I've got pre-orders down for Bayonetta, Bioshock 2 and Mass Effect 2. Others that I know I will be purchasing on or around Day One include Super Street Fighter IV, God of War III, White Knight Chronicles: International Edition, Espgaluda II and last but not least, the biggie for me next year, Final Fantasy XIII.

And that's just stuff on my immediate radar. I expect lots more to pop up.

I hate to say it but I'm becoming more disenchanted with modern games as time goes on, theres hardly anything in this thread mentioned that I'd go 'wow - I can't wait' over.

                            super street fighter 4, GT5 and FF14.
thats probably enough for the year really, although there are a couple of others i'm interested in. galaxy 2 is a definite buy. split second is looking really nice too. and last guardian should be great. not much else has caught my eye yet.

I'm hoping for an announcement from Naughty Dog about a PS3 Jak & Daxter. After seeing Ratchet's furry ears in the PS3 games I can't wait to see how good the Ottsel will look in HD

Mirrors Edge 2 getting the official nod would be cool too. As would Dead Space 2.

Forgot earlier: Split/Second and Blur both promise to give interesting twists on the racing game.
