Has a videogame ever made you cry?

I'm only on the start of disc 2, so no spoilers please. But I find myself getting teary when watching Vivi.

The whole innocent/different child thing incredibly well handled, being a bit different as a kid and being very innocent/clueless I can't help but feel for him when he is picked on or taken advantage of.

Final Fantasy 8.

IMO the closest a game has come to having a perfect balance of emotion and action/drama

Some scenese were just so emotional and, well, beautifully created. I'd love to play it through again but I just don't have the time to commit to it.

Final Fantasy 8 for me too.

I don't know of many other games which are all about love and friendship, with so many emotional moments. I loved the fact that Eyes on Me had such special meaning for Lagune, and that it was used as such in the ending. There are too many standout moments through the game to point out (the space rescue - how emotional was that? floating.....floating....so slowly....IS SHE DEAD?).

The whole ending scene was just so magnificent, with such a wonderful soundtrack, looking so *perfect* and tying up the different strands of the story so well. This game meant so much to me, and I invested so much in it emotionally as it had parallels with my life at the time, that I couldn't help but shed a little tear as different people's fates were shown - Laguna left grieving but ultimately happy, Seifer finding the right path again, Squall and Rinoa finding eachother...just perfect.
