If they throw in Minish Cap, I'll be incredibly happy.

I'm of the view that they certainly didn't need to do anything of this scale to appease early adoptors for a quick price reduction. Possibly a 2-3 downloads but that's all I'd hope for.

20 free games just for being an early adopter! How many did we get when the PSN was down for months again?

I imagine it will be like SMB2 lost levels on the Wii virtual console. There was a period of time (maybe 2 weeks?) where you could buy it after which it would apparently never be available again! Now of course you just buy it like any other VC game. No plans now doesn't mean no plans never.

Most importantly, this confirms games from a non-handheld system on the virtual console. I always thought it was only going to be portable games on the portable VC.

On a platform that relies heavily on word of mouth (and live demonstration) because it's impossible to reflect what the thing is actually like in a tv or print ad, you damn well HAVE to make sure you don't wind up the people who already own your machine.

I think Nintendo have pretty much said "ok, we're knocking ?50-60 off of what people have paid, lets give them that much of our content".

Giving away content they've published always costs less because they have minimal royalties to pay and they know that every free download isn't always a lost sale. That said, I'm really suprised that they've put in some major titles there, most notably: Zelda, Yoshi's Island, Mario Kart. Those would've been major sellers.

Although it's better than Sony's offering. It isn't *that* much better.

Sony gave you three games worth between ?15-20 plus a month of PS+ (although that perk has loss leader elements)

My 3DS only cost ?110 of actual money anyway so I'm not angered by the price drop.

20 Free games?! Best get me a bigger memory card!!

That's cool getting 20 free games BUT

"These games will be available exclusively to Ambassadors, and Nintendo currently has no plans to make these 10 games available to the general public on Nintendo 3DS in the future"

What's all THAT about? Are they being serious, those games are massive Nintendo games for them to withhold.

                'no plans' != 'never'

I don't understand why there isn't a system where everything on the wii vc isn't available straight away on 3DS. Make your emulators compatible and voila! Instant sales.

Eshop finally refreshed and Let's Golf available now. Downloading it at the moment. I played this a lot on my iPhone so am really looking forward to this 3D version

I'm still going to wait at least another year for the 3DS. Get that game catalogue nice and full so there is plenty of choice then pick up the best (some of which would be cheaper by then too).
At least the price is getting a bit more reasonable now but it could only seem that way as it was stupidly priced before.

Flooding the market = commercial suicide.

Also, there's probably enough differences in the emulators for them to need to test them again. The Wii is PPC, the 3DS is ARM. Needs different compiled executables and likely lots of parts re-written.

It's Nintendo though isn't it. The Wii never recieved some key VC titles and they've always said they don't sell many (likely because they don't promote well) so they likely don't see it as a big deal. If there's a big outcry for, say, Metroid Fusion they'd release it a later date. Even if they do... it's free!

Lol yeah it took a while. Got sick of watching those jewels dropping in the cup!Had a good play on this and it's great. Gameloft could have released this on cart and charged ?20 for it so at this price it's a great title.Muc better control than iPhone with the analogue stick controling direction and also spin while ball in the air. The spin aspect works particularly well with analogue control.Load times could be better I suppose. Takes 10 seconds to load a new hole. Doesn't sound much but it's a lot more than iPhone version. Also some of the camera views of shots are from below the ball so you can't judge if you need to apply spin.Overall though it's great, and much better on 3DS in 3D.
