Cool. I only wish we were getting them sooner but, still, it's a great freebie and great to have confirmation on the UK site listing the same games.

And also, for me anyway, seems to be doing its job as I haven't once thought in all of this about how I paid more for the 3DS than people will with the price drop. Just thinking about the free games.

I just bought a 3DS of a forumite. There's no crossover between the Wii and 3DS shops is there? So essentially, if he, or I, have connected it pre-August the 12th then the free games should be downloadable when the time comes? I haven't actually got the machine yet, so I have no idea how a 3DS works.

This free games business is brilliant IMO. I was quite pleased with the price I paid for my 3DS even if it hasn't seen much usage yet, to get 20 free games is absolutely ludicrous. With the price drop I'm now tempted to grab an American unit to compliment my Japanese one.

Yes the ambassador from nintendo is a great offer.Anybody who has purchased a 3ds before August 11th 2011 and registers on the e shop automatically goes onto the ambassador scheme to receive 20 free e shop nes and gameboy advance titles and with yoshi's island,metroid fusion and Mario kart super circuit I'm a happy early adopter LOL

Yeah but it's not just early adopter is it, anyone who has purchased a 3DS before August 11th, still give people about 14 days to buy one on the cheap and take it online.
August 12th the official price drop will be announced, what's the prediction on prices then?

?149.99 RRP with retailers going possibly going down to ?130 I reckon.

It'll be a massive step forward simply having Nintendo state an official RRP. It was a massive misstep in failing to do that in the first place. It'd be happy to see it sit at ?150, I paid ?170 for mine with OoT so they'd be really free games, lol

1) Buy 3DS now, register for free games
2) Buy another one for cheap in a couple of weeks
3) Return the second 3DS for a refund on the first order

(Actually, do amazon still do that thing where if a product goes down in price within 30 days of your order they'll refund the difference? That'd save all the returning crap.)
