Nintendo have innovated over the years for sure but they do seem to be richly rewarded for their laziness these days. I found myself buying Mario Kart Wii at xmas (again). I played it round a friend's too who had also bought it and we were racing on the same courses as we were in 1993. We loved every minute of it mind. Ah Nintendo, how I love thee.

I do think there's something to be said for being able to play these old games on a portable. Hence I'll give Nintendo a break on the subject. Plus you have to remember that most of these games are classics and can withstand repeated playthroughs.
I would like to see new games and ips from them myself but again, you have to remember how long it takes to dev these titles. Especially under the quality control of Nintendo.

I want new games. Things I haven't played before.
That said, the 3DS has tremendous potential for new innovative games and it will no doubt deliver them in the future.

Of course, in some cases I literally have played them before.Originally posted by Shakey_Jake33 View PostI must admit whenever I revisit an old classic, no matter how much I love a game, I usually end up playing it for about an hour. That's about how long it takes for the nostalgia to evaporate.
So glad I wasn't the only one with this opinion. I genuinely do not understand the need to spend ?200 on a machine to revisit games I once enjoyed on a tiny screen.

Ah, I am one of those sad pillocks who cannot wait to buy OOT and Starfox. For me those games are timeless and show gameplay at its very best. I recently played OOT on my N64 and loved every second yet being able to delve back into that experience with a fresh coat of paint is, for me, money well spent.
I also love how there are potentially millions of eager eyes out there who have not yet experienced classics like Ocarina of Time or StarFox.
But anyhoo... The Japanese launch isn't particularly staggering but it's certainly not weak. Looking forward to seeing if our launch differs at all.
