Nintendo 3DS

I got my blue 3DS from Amazon today but no games to play as they are sending it all separately!

Two questions guys...

1. From a healthy prospective, is it better to play the 3DS during the day or can I play it during the night with all the lights off? I don't wanna start wearing glasses or having to goto the opticians all of a sudden...
2. How loud are the speakers on this? Is it louder than the NDS XL?

Just got back from picking up my new toy, some £370 notes lighter, got to be honest I really did not what to expect from the 3d but I have to say I'm totally blown away lol and have not even tried any games yet. I have not seen any 3d films in cinema or anything so first time 3d. It reallly is impressive piece of kit, it feels so much more exspensive/grown up than the old DS ever did. I think I'm even more thrilled than I was when I first got my Wii. This is the reason I absolutely adore Nintendo there hardware always gives the impression of money well spent. Brilliant.

1. Dunno but I played 2hours in total darkness last night and made it into work without crashing my bike into anything or anyone.

Raises a point though, I wonder how much research hss been done into short and long-term effects of playing 3ds?

2. Speakers are quieter than my old DS Lite I reckon but the quality is better.

3D effect looks better in the dark imo! But I already wear glasses/contact lenses

Just updated the firmware and that video is pretty cool, especially the fireworks.

Anyone else that ordered the console from Tesco Direct but had it cancelled just recieved an email for £25 off a game? Wasn't going to buy SSFIV but for £14.90 delivered I couldn't resist!

Did anyone here use Argos for their 3DS order? Paid much more for it here than anywhere else (had vouchers to use up) but still ruddy waiting (gggrrrrr)

It just turned up, love it! Little bit headachey, bet the brain adjusts over time though (like contact lenses)

Indeed. Do you think Rebecca Black meant specifically *this* Friday? Kinda makes sense, although I bet she chose Sims 3 for her launch game the daft bint.

Walked by my local Blockbuster earlier - they still have plenty of Cosmos Black models, albeit for near full RRP (£210).

Won't lie - I was tempted. Just gonna stick it out instead and wait for Amazon to get around to dispatching.

First time in a while I haven't jumped on a new handheld for launch.

But have been waiting for Xperia Play so was saving up for that.

However, I have been tempted today...I guess that is just the game getting the best of me.

A friend bought the 3DS so I thought I'd scout it out first.

Have to say...sorry guys, I don't like it. I mean it's nice like but the 3D thing is pretty meh...I always said I'd jump on the 3D bandwagon when I didn't have to wear glasses but I didn't expect it to give me head crippling pain. It's a gimmick, nothing more.

The games are good, some of my favourites are available for launch but is it worth £175 over a DS Lite - no way. There are sill 100s of games still to play on that for me, with the dPad in the correct position, so I will be sticking with that for now.

I expect to be jumped on for my comments but please just respect it as what it is...an opionion.
