Well my amazon order still hasn't turned up... Apparently HDNL tried to deliver! Did they F**K!

Got a £5 credit on my account and she says it'll turn up on Monday. I'll never use amazon for release day stuff after this.

its strange... i suffer from motion sickness on FPS to the point that i can actually throw up with just 5-10min play. I do get used to it eventually tho. I've had my JP 3DS for almost a month and haven't experienced any ill effects. I dont wear glasses but i know i need some for general use.

AMAZON HAs been a complete farce for loads of people , think they got too ambitious and are blaming system failure or some ****e like that !

Well pleased with it , does everything it said it does on the box I do however have a bit of a wonky lazy eye so have to really concentrate to keep the 3d ness going ....

It's interesting to read the negative views of the hardware as they all seem at odds with my experience with it where it feels solid, well made, the best 3D effect, high res etc. The only thing is the volume doesn't seem to go too high

I think people who approach it with an open mind will like it, but then you get haters/trolls who can't help themselves. I get the impression some people had a quick go just so they can that it's rubbish and a waste of money.

I've seen a couple of articles on websites that couldn't seem to wait to put their boot in either, the Eurogamer article 'Why does the 3DS cost ?230?' when nobody paid that much and they tried to make out Nintendo were making over ?100 per unit and majorly ripping us off, which was pretty poor journalism. And then an article asking if it was good enough to overcome the 'poor battery life'.

Basically saying does it have any redeeming features or is it just a complete load of rubbish it seemed... I didn't bother reading it though. It's a bit like with Lost, I'm a big fan, but some people have to hate on it as if fans are supposed to care what the haters think when in reality I have no interest in their opinions.

Anyone played about with the camera? Theres some fun options in there including a 'face merger' which merges the person holding the DSs face onto the person infront of the 3DS (and vice versa)

still waiting for my VGP order, but had a go with my mates. 3DS in a word? Disappointing...

From SF4 and Pilotwings (the games I tried) the 3D effect is a bit hit and miss and with SF when pulling off a move i'd move the screen slightly but enough to ruin the effect. Pilotwings though did have better 3D and was obviously more suited to it, but graphically considerably worse.

As for the graphics... Well its early days but so far incredibly unimpressive too and the 3D screen seems really low res. To top it off the machine feels quite cheap and tacky too.

I dont know if ive been spoiled by my projector for 3D or iPad for build quality but the 3DS simply isnt what I had expected. I expect the NGP to better then this, else i'll just stick with iOS.

Each to their own mate, Espgaluda is a lot more fun then Pilotwings to me so far and it didnt cost £40. Nor did Dead Space on iOS either.

All im saying is so far the machine feels like a giant gimmick and nothing really stands out for me.

Also, I know theres a lot more shovelware on iOS in general, so its not like im stupid.

Err, yeah I agree there are people like that I did buy one though and they are my impressions. Deal with it.

I have to agree with Shozuki on a few things actually.
I've tinkered with it for 2 days now & feel I'm getting bored with it already.
Screens were smaller than I thought they were gonna be, & DS games in 1.1 are miniscule, & I'm not happy with that. The screens on normal with DS games look fuzzy & drained of colour to me.
It does feel like the hinge is gonna snap for me too. Doesnt feel that strong, & when I didnt push the screen right back it suddenly did so on its own & I thought it was gonna break off.
I played the only game I really wanted (Pilotwings) & am already bored & have traded it in.

Dont get me wrong. The analog is fantastic & comfortable, but again I wish it had been a darker colour, cos that thing is gonna get dirty real fast in its grey rubbery texture.
3D effect is nice but doesnt make my jaw hit the floor everytime I see it. Was hoping for more visually from it. What I mean is more textures, detail etc. More in line with a PSP at least.

I think its just me too tho. I cant sit for long periods of time with these things cos my neck shoulders & chest start to hurt from looking down at it all the time

Hmm I dunno. I'm passing Cardiff in the wk so if I'm not feeling the love for this or its not getting any use I might trade it in for £200 cash at CEx, then maybe buy it further along the line when its dropped in price & has more quality titles

EDDIE and Shozuki have voiced disappointment with it, but as people who've bought and paid for the console they're entitled to think what they want.

"Hater/troll" are strong words to throw about.

Buying a console at launch you are always going to risk not being able to find the software that suits you.

Certainly my reason for purchase at launch was thinking stock is going to be hard to come by about Xmas and by that time Mario Kart, Zelda, Resident Evil should all be on the go. I also suspect prices will rise to the ?220 mark as stock dwindles.
