I assumed that, I meant more how it looks in actual gameplay PES2010 animations look good on their own but they often don't 'gel' right and can look awkward at times. The trailer is promising though

I'm just hoping that they do deliver something different this year. The PES engine needs freshening up, even if it causes problems in the short term that can be fixed and improved on each year like FIFA07 did. It still feels like a PS2 game and as much as I love PES (I still prefer it 1v1 to FIFA) it's becoming stale.

I think this is a major problem with Pes right now. It really feels like a bunch of AI controlled individuals running around rather than a cohesive team. Yes, they all look lovely on their own but try getting them passing and dribbling and it doesnt look or feel right at all.

As is the norm these days I'll await the demo before passing proper judgment.

Many game journalists have recently been invited to PES Productions (Konami) in Tokyo this week to checkout an early version of PES2011. They are all under heavy embargo. However, some are teasing via their Twitters and wotnots...

Are they IGN Journalists? They can tease all they want. I'd prefer to see the game in action after the last 3 shocking versions. Also the fact since PES 4 on the old xbox live that Konami still can't get 1vs1 right. A laggy mess.

There are all kinds. Eurogamer etc. We'd all like to see and play it. What was important to see in that snippet was that the south american journo mentioned how the game was completely redone. As a fan who has also been let down, I'd take the fact that the game has been rebuilt as a good start.

it will be good to see there being 2 games pushing each other on again, I do wonder how much they can catch up in 1y though as EA don't exactly skimp on the resources they throw at FIFA.

I have a sneaky suspicion both football games will be top notch this year.

I think it's been in development well before PES2010 and utilising their fattened up dev team they announced some time ago.

My fear is that with a new engine, new mechanics etc, will PES need another couple of years to be refined as did ea's game did when they did Fifa 08?

I need to get the quotes where Seebass was saying they are going to make big changes and he said sort of the same stuff for the last three versions. I'm pretty sure the previews were glowing for last years game. And that was terrible.

I would not say PES 2010 was terrible. Just nowhere near as good as say PES 6/Winning Eleven 10. PES 2011 sounds and looks like it`s gonna be fantastic. I`m also concerned about the feel of the new engine though, they may need to tweak it a bit. All sounds good though judging by the tweets.

I think we can all agree that all next gen PES have not hit any of our expectations. Let's look forward and hope once again that they redeem themselves and finally deliver to the fans!

Even though it was pretty poor, it was still better than 2009!

As I've always said, J League Winning Eleven 10 is the best one so far and it's going to take a mighty effort to do any better.
