I think whole series started going down hill once Zico was the cover star no more

I hope they can pull off a bit of a miracle, I pray that one day we'll see a good J.League WE on a PS3 console.

It doesn't have to be a J League game, just one that is as good as JLWE10 would make me happy.

This gen I've got bored after 2 or 3 games on PES, but on the PS2 I could play for 12+ hours at a time.

Yeah, what I meant was that I hope we actually see some J.League action on a HD console and not have yet another PS2 version. Must be frustrating to fans of J.League and PES in Japan now.

Very. I miss being able to play as Gamba on the current gen consoles.

Is it because Konami has the J League license that there are no Japanese teams in FIFA?

I'm guessing Konami have a deal for exclusive rights of J.League.

I enjoyed PES 2010, but it was so ridiculously easy to tricking the goalies, and scoring headers.

My faves are 6FE on the Cube and 7 Ps2.

Totally agree with this. Pad was great for WE!

could equally ask this in the FIFA thread but whats the obsession with J-League for some, unless you're actually japanese isn't it like being obsessed with the Hungarian Premier League or the Austrian 1st division ?

For me personally, I just want to be able to play as Gamba.

Another thing I miss on Winning Eleven is the points you get after winning a game. I used to love being able to unlock stuff like a Gamba wallpaper, dinosaur costumes and the like.

There is something about the J-League. In real life it is very competetive and spectacular. In the game it has all the players with real faces, all the real kits, all the stadiums and it just feels special.

Kashiwa Reysol for me. Got the 2008 shirt when I was there but not doing too well at the mo! Top of J2 though.

I have always wondered what the obsession was as well? I saw some J-League a few years ago and it looked very amateurish. Cool kits though.

It is far from that as Man Utd found out when Gamba stuck a few goals past them. Don't get me wrong it is no super league but there is a lot of technical quality. Defending isn't always amazing and the keepers can flap like mad though.

                            Understatement!!!

To be fair though, I've seen some cracking goals. Long range, individual runs and some genius free kicks.

It all looked a bit like the African Nations Cup to me, fast paced with awful defending and goalkeeping. Don't really see the appeal - unless you are either Japanese or one of those people who devour everything Japanese.
