I dont like the power bar now... I hope they at least get wise enough to give you the option to have it under the character or not.

It looks good, way better than before. Animation is still stiff and some of the skill moves look very unnatural.

There's an option to revert it back to classic according to a Konami Tweet.

          Excellent... now I am interested.

I'm not saying the new power bar is awful, I might grow to appreciate it... its just if I dont I want to at least have the old vanilla option available. I can see it being distracting, thats all.

            I'm assuming that's new footage.

PES is going to be pretty good this year, going by what I have played anyway.

Nice vid. Loving the tactical menus. The drag and drop Andy Gray tiddly-winks etc.

I want to feel it in my paws.

Really don't these "old men" running around. Very picky. Maybe for the hell of it?

Going off Ezee's hands-on views, maybe it's goign to be back as the playable beast most of us used to know.

                    You're right Mr Ryder

If we're comparing it with FIFA visually. I think FIFA still wins in the animation fluidity department. PES' animations look a lot better, but they can look a little jittery when linking from animation to the next.

Playability will be king to any PES fan. I've heard so many good things about how PES2011 feels, so I'm dying to get my hands on it. As long as it's back to its old responsive fun self, the picky animation gripes can stick around.

Surely you will get your hands on it soon Mr hoolak?

Embargo ended today on the latest code (updated E3 code) so expect news and impressions from various websites over the course of the week.

Konami (Jon Murphy) have said their main goal is to bring the "hardcore" back to PES after a couple of really poor showings (2008 and 2009). I reckon PES 2011 is on course to do that.

People are, of course, allowed to be cautious when it comes to PES because, let's face it, they haven't delivered the goods for a while now. I was in exactly the same frame of mind before I played PES 2011 but after all was said and done, I was left very impressed.

Old men? Hmm, I don't get that comment. Animations have been greatly improved, they are much more fluid and realistic now.

EDIT - Weird, dunno what happened there! The above post by hoolak is obviously in response to this post of mine.

                          Indeed!

You're right, FIFA probably still wins out in terms of overall fludity but just wait til you play PES 2011.....massive improvement.

Playability (gameplay) is always king and I'm happy to say that PES 2011 plays really well. The passing system is just sublime. It will take a while to get fully used to but once you do, you can actually forget about using that through pass button. Why? Well, because it will feel restrictive compared to the normal (new) passing system.

I haven't had the chance to play FIFA 11 yet (hopefully at Gamescom I will) but I get the feeling that will be pretty damn good too. Football gaming fans are going to be in for a treat this year, no matter what game they pick.

Well it certainly looks a marked improvement over all other next gen PES games. Would be nice for a return to form, a huge part of me would welcome it. But the issue is now, I am far to involved playing clubs on Fifa. I am not sure PES could top that.

                              Looks aces!

World cup excitement got the best of me the other day and I bought 2010 thinking that 2011'd be the usual slight tweakage fest. It looks blimmin' miles better already.

The new trailer looks good but one worrying thing seems to be the appalling goalkeeping on display. They could have put at least one save in surely??
Also those nets just annoy me...
