Both guys in those vids look like they can already play (real) guitar a bit, and neither of them seems able to hold a combo for more than a dozen notes or so ... at least one of them is playing with no-fail enabled.

That was my main concern as well...

From what we've seen so far, the tech may be a bit shoddy. Who knows until legit players get their hands on it?

Even if it's not 100%, that's not a deal breaker for me as no-fail is far more fun with my mates, otherwise finishing a song can be tricky, in part due to me refusal to do anything other than Expert, and I can't do any of the faster drum tracks - I'm stubborn

It'll just be fun playing a real guitar. I'd assumed it tested the note you were hitting, not the fret location, which is a bit of a concern for me but there you go. Would also prefer a horizontal tab style display, coming down the screen at that pace will be a bitch.

If expert pro mode isn't 100% then, for me, it'll be a huge let down if I'm honest.

Fair enough. I'll get it for the joy of playing a real instrument. TBH I've never copied a solo 100% in my life, so mimicking one exactly holds no interest to me beyond the technical aspect. I'm all about personal expression in my playing (or as some have called it, technical limitation, lol).

I don't think they'd release it unless it was 100% but it does look a bit flakey in those vids. I can't work out what's going on with the guitar - does it have like sensors in the neck, on every fret

But Matt, copying a solo or not, that video shows that identical playing doesn't work and "expressing yourself" won't work either without no fail mode, which negates the entire point.

In the studio myself, I've tended to make solo's up on the spot and then play something entirely different live. But if they are going for authenticity then I'd like it to actually work.

The sensors are in the actual frets by the way.

I don't even know why I'm excited about this, I have a bloody collection of guitars in storage, something about combining the two hobbies I love the most though....mmmmm!

I'm just stoked I'll be able to play a real guitar in the game in any capacity

Can completely see your point and you're right.

The surely can't release it until it's 100% solid, or close enough.

Guitars in storage hey? I'm down to 2 now, having given away my 12 string a few months (not played it in years). I was hoping I'd be able to plug any guitar in, oh well. Any ideas on price?

Only the midi guide for the game will work sadly, pricing is apparently "competitive" which could mean anything...

Yeah, I am worried about the pricing. I'm not paying a couple of hundred quid for a guitar to use in a game, but then it's not going to be any less is it? I don't have to tell you how cheap guitars play

It's been announced in Canada that if you pre-order, you get some bonus songs:

Talking Heads – Burning Down the House
                      Deftones – My Own Summer
                      New Order – Blue Monday

I'm not sure if that offer applies here, but as far as the songs go, that's more like it! Blue Monday will be awesome on drums and keyboards (even though it's a drum machine so all you should be doing is hitting some switches) and Burning Down the House has some hamazing keyboards in it (especially the live version from Stop Making Sense).

Seems that there will be a more rounded selection after all, which is just what I wanted .

Maybe we'll even get some Joy Division?

$150 in the states is less than i thought it was going to be.

The price of the Fender Squier will be sky high no doubt even though a normal one can be bought for less than 100 quid. Mad Catz have the keyboards up for order at 70 quid which is pretty steep tbh.

Whenever I hear B-52 music I think of that bit in Family Guy:

"Now. Try. To. Get. Some. Sleep. Out. There!!"

Totally, utterly my most anticipated game of the year!

I heard somewhere that once this is released there'll be over 1000 songs for RB in total. Amazing!!
