Ladin, who also voiced Ellis in Left 4 Dead 2, was chosen because the sequel's set to require both voice and motion capture work, director Nate Fox said.

"We got a new actor primarily because we were capturing action and audio at the same time," he offered. "The old Cole was just a voice actor and since we're starting motion capture work we wanted to get someone who had the physicality and the voice, which we get simultaneously so we have more nuance in our performance."

On Ladin, the InFamous director said: "We auditioned a ton of people and he walked in and just felt like a superhero. It was kind of freaky actually because he kind of owned the room. He's a friendly, good guy... it seems important that your hero is someone you'd want to have a beer with."

The Sucker Punch man also revealed a startling secret to our man at the show: the only reason main character Cole had no barnet in the first game is because they didn't think they could pull off hair technically.

"Part of the reason Cole had a shaved head in the first game was because we didn't think we could do a good job of rendering hair very well on the main character," said Fox. "Now we have better technology and we can give him a sweet head of hair - and lord knows if I could grow out my hair I would do it."

      Oh my! <3

(I'm guessing it's an early leak of the GTTV exclusive trailer tonight so I'm not sure how long it'll remain)

Colour me VERY impressed with that. Played a few hours of the first and it wasn't capturing me, still chipping away at it cause I want to see how it all pans out.
Change of art style looks like it was a good choice from that footage, very impressive.

Looks incredibly. Nice to see they've worked on the melee, hope the shockwave isn't as overpowered as it was in the first.

Innnnnteresting. Not one hundred percent sold; it's got a couple of stupid videogame moments in there, not least why he didn't just instantly attack the chopper. Nice that it's all game engine, though, and I love the new destructible buildings. Plus if that's the actual music, if it's not Amon Tobin on the score again it sounds as if they're trying to keep the same mood, which makes me very pleased.

I like, anyway. I can certainly wait - I'm not foaming at the mouth or anything - but I like it.

Apparently there's a full HD version on incgamers.com. I've been trying to get on for about 30 minutes but the site is completely dead as I think everybody is trying to get on at the same time.

Well i still hate the character redesign, he looks utterly generic and far to much of a hero and not the neutral character that the first was so he looked right as evil or good.

But, that gameplay looks bloody good, dam bloody good

It's the wall-sliding move I'm not totally sold on. Looks kind of silly to me. Wires seems the same as ever, though, and the flying power always was amazing (as many reviews said, it was crazy not to let the player unlock that much, much sooner). The sudden boost up the drainpipe is perhaps a tad comical, but it's animated fairly well from what I can see.

It's up on GameTrailers now. Not HD but certainly better than the original YouTube rip.

It looks like it's not just the graphical effects that they've borrowed from Uncharted 2...

I know it's really sad but after watching the last few GT5 videos so closely for any hints, I've started checking these parts when a new video is released as Sony tend to hide stuff there.

I'd be worried about multiplayer in a game like this apart from the fact that it worked out brilliantly in Uncharted 2 and I was convinced that was never going to work.

The HD is up now on that GT link.

                        Some art from the game.

Character looks like he was created by votes at the Generic Character Conference.

Game itself looks immense. Destruction - what I want in all my games Adds so much, let's hope it's persistant.

Not 100% sure on the camera zooms and swings mid action. Looks brilliant, think it may hinder playability.
