It's a bit worrying to hear about the track width as I've found that to be the biggest problem with the series over the last couple of installments. Mines almost here now so I'm keeping the faith

Tracks will need some width to make all the different kart types usable, like if you have a lot of speed, but not tight handling etc. If the tracks were very narrow, you'd only be able to compete with the maximum handling karts.

For Mario Kart 64 had the best use of width-narrow spacing, though I guess it being offline meant there were things they didn't need to plan accordingly for. As long as they're no wider than the Wii version I'll cope

Never felt that about Mario Kart Wii, there were plenty of pretty narrow tracks too. Did you already play through all the tracks?

Yep. Played all 32 (16 new & 16 retro). I stand by what I said. Some of them are far too wide and it just seems to Sao the speed from the game.

Apart from that it's ace!!

Sorry to derail the thread, but Teddy, what combination of factors prompted you to buy a 3DS now rather than earlier/later? I'm starting to warm to the 3DS because there are more and more games coming out for it, but factors like the impending refresh, the poor battery life and the region locking are keeping me away for now.

Gah, I've not preordered this anywhere and have too many other unplayed games but might have to go out and get robbed on the High Street tomorrow. Used to love playing the DS one online so will be well up for racing peeps from here
