Mario Kart 3DS

I caved and bought it from HMV, managed to trade in some stuff AND do this o2 reward thing to get a ?10 gift card. If my maths is correct I think Mario Kart 7 ended up costing me about ?15 (ticket price was ?37.99)!!

3DS is on charge and I'm reconing I'll use at least one full charge up playing this tonight.

I traded in Mario 3D and 11 quids worth of gamestation points...noticed everything seems more expensive than usual, 43 instead of 40 quid, 38 instead of 35 for 3DS. Hope thats just because we are in the prime gifting period and not a permanent thing. Got 10 street passes in town too....have not had more than 2 in one go ever!!

Managed to get this for ?4 after a couple of trade ins (2nd prof layton game, Monster Hunter Wii and House of the Dead Wii), from Grainger who had it on special for ?30. Not a bad deal I reckon, GAME had 30% extra on all Wii and DS trade ins against the game, but the extra ?7 purchase price probably would have left me at a loss.

No real problems with it, but WHY THE DAMN Nintendo did you not put in an options screen? I was hoping the L shoulder button would function as powerup. Alas no, the button seemingly does nothing in an actual race with power ups being assigned to the X button! When you're in first place and need to hang a shell or banana behind you, things get very uncomfortable very fast

Really? Try L again. That's what I've been using. Maybe you have a dodgy L button, or else I've got it totally wrong!

Heh, guess I forgot how crap the battery life is as have almost used up the first charge now and doesn't feel like I've been playing long!

They gave them enough freebies seemingly to warrant Mario Kart actually getting an 8.5.
