The different groups of characters you play as shatters the immersion of the main quest. The repetition of enemies is tiring and the boss battles uninspired.

Im sure there will be a nice MH or MGS bundle somewhere down the line.

The videos I've seen for RE:R look drab.

Jesus Christ, this is the third thread I've posted this in. The game is getting 9s people, 9s!

Yeah, I guess it's who they're getting them from though. Nintendo Power seems to give at least an 8 just for anyone releasing a game on a Nintendo system.

Dude, from the likes of Nintendo Power, Game informer and Games master!

Games TM and Edge tend to reflect my views more tbh. A 7 from Edge and an 8 from Games TM is my benchmark for a decent game, assuming the reviewer wasn't biased against the genre.

On the one hand, they are typically harder with their reviews and it does sound like some of the bad design choices the series has have lately have survived. On the flipside, Edge scored RE5 a 7 and Gamestm scored it 9 so they're far from reliable.

Yeah I don't go by reviews by then to agree with most Games Tm scores . I just think Horror games don't work well on any handheld and I would imagine Capcom staff are really busy on Dragon Dogma and Resident Evil 6 to put that much resources in to some of their HH projects.

Plus of coruse this is still 1st gen stuff for the next gen of Hand helds it did take a while for the PS3 and 360 to get going, never mind the DS- Which people seem to overlook

Silent Hill Origins, while not a fantastic game, didn't suffer from being on a handheld. Nor did Shattered Memories, which worked great on the PSP. And I still cacked my pants playing Silent Hill 1 on PSP too, now that I think about it. Depends on your setting, I suppose. If you're playing one while watching Family Guy and there are dogs doing tricks for treats in front of you, it's going to suck a little of the atmosphere. But I wouldn't either blame being handheld or use it as an excuse if a horror game doesn't quite work on a handheld.

I'll still be getting this regardless of the reviews but it has reset my expectations a little. Maybe that's no bad thing.

I wonder if they played them in the dark with headphones. Horror games work well when used properly.

I enjoyed Shattered Memories far better on the Wii. Like with horror films I rather play then on the Big TV with the sound sound - its just works better I don't like playing RPG's on the Hand Held either . To me some games work better than others on hand Helds - Tetris/Columns on the consoles I find crap and boring on the hand held it's a perfect match

Would love a new Columns game. With some new twists. Loved the look and sound of that game. Sorry OT.

So in other words, it all comes down to preference. It's subjective.

I won't be cancelling my pre order playing it on night shift with my headphones should create the atmosphere as myself gave up on magazine reviews years ago, each to their own

We 3DS owners are being carefully drip fed.
