Well it doesn't, was replying to bob who said.

"Even if they can just have it so that when you start the console it goes straight to the MY XBOX section, ready to play the game inserted I'll be happy, rather than going to the ****ing advertising every single time"

For xbla I always just hit guide, games library then pick my game

For the most part I just use the Quick Launch option! S'a winner!

That MSN Entertainment isnt available to people on the preview program btw. Boo hoo.

How do you actually do bug reports on the connect website?

        Comment

Well... you're supposed to go into the section for the product and then you can log a bug there.

I only have a few other MS products listed, where I can log bugs. For some reason NXE doesn't get listed for me.

Indeed. I'm always surprised to see people rushing to sign up for dashboard betas and run the risk of getting less out of gaming for a time when they could wait a month or two and get something that works the way it should.

It's not a beta per se, it's a preview. That's what it's advertised as. The beta has been running for a month or more and the major problems should have been fixed.

For example, the beta highlighted that Indie Games were not working.

And so they fixed the issue.

And then they broke them again.

Mine goes to My Xbox when it turn it on (with the disc highlighted). There's a setting in the preferences to turn off the welcome blade thingimy bob.

It's when I stop a game and return to the dash that it goes to the ads.

I wish they would organise the menu in the main dash so it's alphabetical, at least then you know where to expect the menu items to appear.

I would like it to default to My Xbox when I sign in and not Spotlight.

It would be nice if they could do something with the overall appearance so that themes are more exposed. It seems a shame for devs to put the effort in putting a theme together and then be expected to pay (I only get the free ones) when most of the designs are not visible.

On stuff not being visible, I find the new dash very peculiar. On the old dash you could see loads of tabs in Spotlight and IXbox and that stuff, but now you can see three; surely that's gonna result in less exposure for the stuff at the end?

I really don't understand why the dash isn't completely customizable if I'm honest, like an iPhone etc...put the "squares" in whatever order you want.

It'd solve so much teeth gnashing...

I have a disc inside the console generally all the time. I have hidden the welcome screen.

When I power on it goes to the advertising section called SPOTLIGHT.

I don't always want the game disc to fire up on power up, so I guess I am screwed.

I know why they do it. I wouldn't bother to look at it otherwise. Still, it gives that "stink" about it that the machine is not really yours, its theirs.

Waiting for the day that MY GAMES section will be called MY LICENSE AGREEMENT ACCEPTED GAME LICENSES, or something.

I like it, the new intro, the new noises and it feels slicker and smoother, and importantly I think it looks more sharper more colourful and more high definition than ever before

Things I don't like: I don't like the white on black text and scrolling back and forth was making my eyes ache.

Just to taunt us, it defaults to My Xbox when you boot the console up and aren't signed in, then when you sign in it defaults to Spotlight (it also did this pre-preview).

Have they got rid of the stupid grey background which hides half of the background that you choose to display?
