Good find. Only thing I think I'm bothered about is installing games. I actually like the dash layout the now so hoping the new one isn't too big a change I don't like it!

I use to like the blades till i got a 1080p telly.

I still like the blades, especially with a good theme. I'm very partial to the Bejeweled one, which is one of the few that isn't totally unreadable.

I'm still looking forward to giving this a try, though. It looks a lot slicker and more fluid, and the current dash can still be sluggish - the guide especially - even after nearly three years of updates. The new one has been looking much smoother, which it should after presumably being started over almost from scratch.

I really like the Bejewelled theme too. I'm using the free Castle Crashers one at the moment though.

I'm also looking forward to the new dashboard. I like what I've seen of it so far.

Isn't Scene It Box Office Smash supposed to be out October 28? and this game needs the new dash so in theory the new dash needs to come out on the same day or before the game is released..

I see they must have moved it (a lot of US shops still have the 21st October) - I guess MS is going to make November as dynamite a month as possible. I just hope its out before Gears 2 is last thing we need is technical problems at the release of the one of the biggest releases this year.

End of November for Scene It.

a press release today states Scene IT Box Office Smash will launch 28th October in North America. So the new dash has to show up on or before this date.

I wouldn't put too much stock in the Scene It release date being an indicator for the update just yet.

MS have said Avatars will be optional so Scene It will probably allow you to play with gamerpics just like the first.

That said I hope they hurry up and release it - I'd love to have my hands on it in time for Fable 2 / Fallout 3 / Gears 2

you're probably right I just really need 16:10 support (I hope its properly implemented) and would much rather play my games through the hard drive.

Edit: still it would be a ****ty way to launch a game and if the dash update doesn't happen before its release they may as well put a delay on the game

It'll be out a few weeks before Gears 2, I'd have thought. They won't risk potential dashboard issues ruining the Gears 2 launch for people.
