Gears 2 will probably kill a few 360s as well. Playing a graphically intensive game on the console is never advised

We should place some bets. I'm going BEFORE Gears 2.

I'm saying after, as GOW2 is less than a month away and I think we'd of heard about it by now.

I'm hoping we'll find out a solid release date at TGS this friday.

Gargh, wouldn't have preferred it before then at the start of the month, but at least we get a date

                  Nice demo video on kotaku.

Aaron Greenberg, group product manager for Xbox 360, may not have been wearing a velvet smoking jacket, but he still had some pretty sexy stuff to show off today in a hotel room opposite the convention hall today. Greenberg walked a group of journalists through a demonstration of the live and kicking New Xbox Live…

This is gonna bring my dash to a grinding halt isn't it?! It struggles with the dash as it is at the moment

Theres also a HDD vs DVD comparison video out.
Reader Thomas sent along this video showing the loading differences between the standard DVD disc and the new Xbox Experience HDD load option, which allows you to install an entire game on your hard drive. The game being showcased is Grand Theft Auto IV, which has notorious load times. As you can see, it does in…

Game being used as a reference is GTA IV. About a 4-5 second difference in terms of start up. although apparantly it will differ from game to game.

^To be honest though, the fact that it should delay the inevitable 'Unreadable Disc' error is reason enough to use it.

Not to forget no disc drive noise.

Just be prepared for hard drive churning

After Gears 2 then? I lose the bet

At least a 256 MB Memory Unit is needed for the new dash apparently:

Microsoft's press materials state; "The New Xbox Experience is available this fall through a free download to anyone with an Xbox 360 system, a broadband connection and a storage device of either a hard drive or 256MB memory unit or larger."

I think the cheapest 360 pack comes with a 256mb memory card, so I doubt it will cause an issue for many.
