wow very slick. That actually surprised me how fast he was flicking between everything.
That is an actual working dash too, not a flash mock up.

Also LOL at Bill Gate's avatar saying
      I'm a PC!

MS havel launched a Memory Upgrade system for Xbox 360 users who dont have enough memory to upgrade the new dash, site here....

So far in USA its either a FREE 512mb memory card OR a refurbished 20GB HD $19.99 there is a special offer it seems that is for $29.99 20gb HD + 3 Month live sub.

I'd been tempted to pick up a £129 Arcade for downstairs as a Media Center Extender, and I must admit that it sounds like an even better deal when I could add the 20GB HDD for a few quid more...

It's good that there's a proper exchange program, though. Makes some amends for the stupid decision not to make the HDD standard on all 360s.

They should just do this and have done with it. Seriously, how many people have a 360 that's connected to Live and don't have a HDD? The only people I know who've ever bought Arcade machines were just replacing or upgrading their existing machines.

There's a lot of people I know who will never go on Live who suddenly love the idea of getting a 360 for only ?130.

It'd be interesting to know how much of the recent upsurge in 360 sales are arcade units.

                    THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!
They've cut the Movie Sharing outta this dash now

I was really looking forward to not sharing movies on the netflix account that won't be available to me in this country.

I don't like that fact you need a minimum of 128 MB storage for this new dash, after buying an Arcade on Saturday to use at a second location I visit often. Thank's for the late but crucial information about the new dash MS! I wish I got a Pro or kept my 20 GB HDD after getting a 120 GB one. Isn't hindsight great!

I think you can apply for a free 512mb card or pay £12.99 for 20gb HDD.

Can you apply with a later Arcade (256mb card included?) or is it only earlier cores? A free 512 card sounds good to me

Anyone without a HDD, look around at Comet were selling off the 20gig for £20 in store the other week. There may still be some around. I wouldn't count on the £12 MS deal being a new HDD.

I have no idea. Worth a shot though chain all you need to do is enter your serial number on the website, it will let you know if you qualify or not.

I tried it with my Elite. LoL

Makes me wonder what steps Microsoft will take with future revisions of the console, given the new dashboard size requirements. Will they increase the internal storage size (the bit where the dashboard is traditionally stored) to accomodate the new size? Will they make 512MB cards standard?

If so, what happens if you turn the machine on with no memory card/HDD? Will the machine be inoperable, or are you simply blocked out of dashboard, or do you revert to the existing dashboard? If not, how will you install the update to a fresh card? Seems rather clumsy to require a card to operate.

Certainly not trying to rip into Microsoft's efforts, I support their progressive improvements to the machine, I'm just curious about what the implications are. All will become clear, of course.

This is another reason why the Arcade/Core shouldn't have existed in the first place.
