    Same here really.

I'm not having any issues with speed or freezing but I've gone from being very impressed with the layout to finding I'm just not visiting the Marketplace as much as I was with the old dash.

I can't really put my finger on why. In theory the visual side of it should make it easier to browse and find what you want but it all just seems so disorganised in it's actual sub-categories etc. I tend to just read about stuff on the net now and then go off and download it rather than just mindlessly browsing it.

There are aspects I still love (like easier display of achievements, game history and a quick visual check of what your friends list is up to in the channel when you start up) but MS could really do with trimming out all the filler from the interface.

This has pretty much put all the functionality they built up back to square one IMO. Marketplace is kinda hidden away now; I have no idea where to find the new game trailers for example. I suppose that was the point, since now a game will only get advertised properly if the publishers smoke enough MS pole to have their stuff put on 'Spotlight'. The thing that's annoying me the most though is how the damn thing freezes if any aspect of Live is not working properly, as it seems that since the update there's always at least one part of the system that's not up or working.

I've been going far less often into the marketplace as find is such a lousy piece of software to use.
So the sound of a hairdryer distracting you while you're trying to play is an appeal to you then? Each to their own I suppose

The marketplace is broken for the same reason as the menu - the damn fade out / overlap stuff. There's only focus on one thing at a time. If they insist on having the boxart stuff, then at least show 4 or 9 on screen at once. Again, it's a problem of not knowing what's coming next, so it's very stop/start. Our brains can look at one thing and also take note of what's coming next to allow us to scan through lists quickly. No way of doing this if you can't see what's coming next.

Still enjoying NXE, apart from xbox breaking and stuff.

On the brighter side, at least this makes Microsoft look like even more of a bunch of tits than they did thanks to the hardware issues.

I look forward to harsh criticism from EDGE.

I never used the old system so can't compare. Instead I'll compare it to XMB:

Flashier but laggy and I don't know where to find anything. That may be because I'm a new user though. Hitting the XBox button though does, usually, bring up the guide(is that the right term?) faster than the PS3 does mind. Overall it's fine I guess. I'm a minimalist kinda guy though so I'd have been happy with a command line interface as long as it worked quickly.

I've had no issues with mine other than the Friends tab and on the first day when it was reporting lots of data pulling errors. Since then though its been smooth.

D you guys use Wi-Fi? Cos I used the cabel... just a thought.

Yeah, I'm wireless on mine. Never thought on that making it slower, but it quite possibily is.

Apart from game installs, not really enjoying it much either. Trying to find anything is noticebly more difficult than it was prior to the update.

The mini guide does help immensely but when the solution to any problems is bring up a small version of what we had before, it brings into question why changes were made in the first place.

At least I don't find the avatars as horrible and intrusive as I expected.

If your finding this one laggy count yourself blessed that you didn't use the old one.

I become more unimpressed with this as the days go by also, whilst i appreciate having the reduced noise, ive noticed that the games installed have started to suffer with slowdown when they shouldn't.

The layout is now farr to spread out, and as others have said (when i hooked up to live anyway) live seemed all but useless for locating content, and now seems purely designed for adverts to the highest bidder.

                          More ****e Microsoft software then!

I use a cable, unfortunately. I think the problem might be related to bandwidth; I only have 1MB.

                              I am only on 2mb.

I often have my PC on downloading stuff while I am playing in the dash, reading the news and stuff. Just the other day I was looking at the Fabel screen shots while my PC was downloading at full speed. They tooks a few secs to load initialy but they did load.
