A question to anyone in the preview program, this number, is there a way to disable it? Y'see, I'm really only interested in PLAYING games, not showing off how long I've been a LIVE member. It's a pointless thing, who cares? Seriously, who actually cares about that number?

I don't want it there, and I don't care how long my mates have been members. If they've not improved the dash by a HUGE amount, yet had the dev time to force this ****e in there, I can only assume they are a pack of bastards.

EDIT: [LOL!] I've used cards now to renew for over a year, but quite often I've forgotten to renew in time, and been silver for a few hours, or a day or two. So they reset your "count" if you do that? That's utterly ridiculous! [/LOL!]

No you can't turn it off.

And as ttk said above they only reset your count if you've been back at silver for 14 days. If you renew before that time is up it counts as continuous gold membership.

I never recieved an e-mail, but i did get the update this morning when i turned my 360 on.

I've just noticed they've finally assigned a button, X, to eject the tray when a disc is in it. I haven't ever noticed this since the NXE was first released so assume it's part of the new update. It's a small thing, but long overdue.

Just need a 50 Disc dvd changer add on now so I don't have to keep getting up to change the game.

erm I just got the email again an got forced to download a new update.

It kicked me off live in the middle of a game of Halo dammit

Yeah I had the exact same thing happen to me in the middle of a Gears 2 match. Why the hell did they force us to download it again?!

I just got the invite for this (little surprised because I only applied for it last night), and wow. The marketplace works again No more sitting and waiting literally up to a minute for a line of text to appear! It's up in about 3 seconds. Achievement browser is nice too.

Go and check if that blue `Update Preview` channel is missing from your dash now.

If it is, then that's probably why.

edit: nope I see it isn't.

edit: I'm reading in multiple places that if you have a unit with the internal memory, if you save your profile to that instead of having it on the HDD or memory card then it speeds up the dash even more.

Dunno if anyone here wants to check it out?
