I found myself in GAME at the weekend with my wife and son. While in there I asked the GAME guy if I could pre order a Switch 2 Pro Controller. He said they don't do pre-orders IN STORE anymore as they're all using one till system in there now and it isn't possible. They just advise to go/do it online. But ... what about the high street? I said to him. To be fair he was just as frustrated/non-plussed. I preordered one from John Lewis in the end.

I admit this is quite a niche complaint, but in recent months I've heard a lot of UK retro gaming collectors refer to some specific items of junk in their rooms as a "piece" (like it's artwork) and I'd like to give a "piece" of my mind.
Look, I love games, always did - but I absolutely draw the line at calling calling game shop promotional standees, differently coloured consoles or Mario teddies a piece. Curio, sure. Weird item of junk, probably. Something to shove in a room to stare at and temporarily remember a time when you had less responsibilities, absolutely.
Nobody ever used to call them a piece. I'm not having it. And I know I'm a misery, so there.
