It's a full US set (as in CIB along with all freebies that came with the games and outer cardboard boxes), along with all the demo and kiosks discs. Some Japanese and PAL titles, and every PAL and Japanese demo I believe. A dev box, prototype controller, special edition of Robotech, the NR reader and discs (not in shot), two sets of bongos, the ASCII PSO controller... and a few other bits and pieces I can't recall.

I sold everything (around 10/12 consoles and MANY games) apart from my PSP and PSOne with my unplayed/finished RPGs so that I could come out here. I still get sudden shivers randomly.

Like Family says though, as long as you were 'there and then' it doesn't really matter. I can buy all my **** back again whenever, it's the memories that are golden.

I think that viewpoint is generally a correct one, even though there are a few games (F-Zero GX, Twilight Princess and Mario Sunshine being I think the obvious ones) which are still excellent games in their own right that have an impossible task being compared to the N64 versions.

What often gets overlooked through all of that were the wonderful new games the GCN gave us, and that's what really made the console special. Super Monkey Ball was the best game on the system for me, and there was also Pikmin, Luigi's Mansion, killer7, Metroid Prime, Animal Crossing...

Importaku and Mayhem: I am not jealous. Not at all. Nope. ()

AND P.N.03 of course, Capcom were in their element!
Remember hating it to start then it just clicked, would put my headphones on and just rock out to it running/jumping around like a mad man, tapping my A button to hell.

My favourite period of gaming so far, love the Cube to bits and could never sell it. Its a design classic!

No-one mentioned remake yet? I've been meaning to re-play it for about 2yrs but its such a ballache of a game to play I always find myself doing something else. It still looks great though, and when I dug my cube out of the cupboard about 4months ago I was still surprised at just how quickly the software loads etc.

Still love the looks of it also. The quirky handle on the back

For me the Gamecube is the second best Nintendo console ever made (behind the Snes).

It has a timeless feel about it, and the graphics still look clear and sharp today. I could have never owned it as my only console due to it not getting many games which appeared on the Xbox and PS2 that I like, but it is great for the exclusives and the two Monkey Ball games alone justified it's cost.

I came to the GC very late, until it dropped way below ?100 I could never justify the cost as there were so few exclusives I was actually interested in.

The first few games I played on it I'll always hold in the highest regard: Eternal Darkness, REMake, Fire Emblem PoR and F Zero GX. However since then I've bought all the dozen (literally) GC exclusives I wanted yet as I've tried each one my liking for the GC has diminished.

None of those other GC games has grabbed me much at all, in fact I've actively disliked three of them. Maybe I've been unlucky in choice of play order but when the selection is so small that is a very high percentage not to like.

There is also something about the Nintendo way of thinking that pervades the GC, it has a different feel to any other console I've used. Perhaps it's just the presentation style but whatever it is, it doesn't suit me either.

Consequently whilst I do like the GC's natty little design, it's technical abilities and reliability I just don't love it in the same way I love any of my other old consoles, particularly the PS and DC.

I'm shocked at most of the comments in this thread given the pasting the GC got at the time from all quarters. The same thing happened with the N64.

Good to see it being remembered fondly.

The Gamecube was how I actually found this forum, think Evilboris mentioned it to me when he imported his gamecube. I took one look at his US copy of Eternal Darkness and I ordered a copy for myself and went to find a JPN/US switched cube straight away.
Man that was 8 years ago!

                          Ah Man the Gamecube

I couldn't wait to get one after realising you could import games and I was still in full on N64 fever love mode and I started looking into the Gamecube online, IGN being one of the main online sources for games news and reviews back then.
They had a forum called the Gamecube Import Invasion board and I hung around there until they made it Subscription only.
Somebody made a forum elsewhere called the Import Invasion Refugees and we chatted there until I stumbled across this forum where there were even more importers!

It always brings a smile to my face when I see the forum names of my Gamecube importing chums from all that time back.

When I actually got my Cube, with Monkey Ball and Wave Race, I was actually a little dissapointed. But as time went by and quality game after quality game came out , that was long forgotten.

                          Amazing gaming era for me

Same here found this forum and rllmuk when searching an import jpn Gamecube. Then the switched ones came out and ended up getting one from Goblindirect (hmh wondered what happened to them)

Definitely had some good times with the Gamecube, especially Rogue Squadron 2 and Monkey Ball on launch. Remember paying extortionate amount of money for Pikmin at Another World in Notts to. Then there was Metroid Prime which was better than anyone hope it could of been and a stunning remake of Resident Evil and Resident Evil 4 to top it of. Oh and as for the online side, there was PSO which was a nice follow on from the Dreamcast version.

Actually looking back now, it was better than I remembered Nice looking piece of kit to and loved the small media discs.

Don`t think I`d get rid of mine though as you get nothing for them and I`ve only got about 4 games for it now anyway, so might aswell keep it. Same with my Dreamcast.

You never know, when I get bored of my Xbox I might revisit my Gamecube.

                              Goblin Direct!

I almost jizzed myself when I realised they were just down the road from my house, so I picked up games a couple of times from them
