I thought the racing mode on Flatout was unplayable...awful...like driving twitchy barges!!
The stunt mode however still gets played by me and the lads now, utterly brilliant!

Ridge Racer has been awful since type 4 anyway!!

They just shouldn't have called it Ridge Racer when it isn't really one. If this sells well make the most of RR3DS....

Don't like the idea of her getting out of a RR7 car and getting into that American style Camero looking monster. I hope it's good, but I guess they feel Ridge Racer needs a change. My idea of fun is expanding on Ridge Racer Type 4, loved the style and layout of that game.

I wondered what peeps were grumbling about until I watched the trailer.

          Lawks.

It's like some sort of evil Anti-Ridge, with all the sunnyness, brash J-breakbeat, and undulating courses replaced with flat street blocks, generic hip-hop and grunge.

          Yuck!

Doesn't anyone think the game looks awful? Proper ropey, unless I've only seen bad vids.

This is some ghetto looking dribble another nail in the coffin for namco. I cant really work out the logic of making a game like this which is pretty much the most over populated genre.

^That's pretty much my thoughts. I suspect that they're trying to capitalise on the recent success of games like Burnout and the like, but they already have 'their game' (and they've clearly not flocked en masse to the likes of Flat Out etc.). All this will achieve is to alienate the player base that they already have. They pretty much have the 'traditional arcade racing genre to themselves these days (aside from the odd Sega game), it would be a waste for them not to capitalise on that. Street Fighter 4 shows that a genre can easily be revived if they take a proactive, evolutionary attitude towards it.

They can release bland outsourced stuff like this so long as they localise more Tales of... titles in the future.

I'm probably quite alone here, but Ridge Racer 7 is probably the only game that I still play at least once a week, usually more.

I don't play it that religiously but have no qualms saying its one of the best games of all time, maybe the best. This sounds pure puke I seriously want to stab Namco.

My biggest mistake of this generation was not picking up RR7 when I first got the Ps3. I eventually picked it up when it was being discounted, and immediately thought it was easily worth the full buck. A Sony console should always be bought with an RR.

I played RR7 a lot. Online was awesome too, sick skills but no bitching to be found. Upon completing the GP, the hardcore ****z actually begins, liked that. Ridge Racer 7 is certainly the best racer on the Ps3. Gran Turismo 5 has nothing on RR's near perfect presentation.

This new one? It looks and sounds like a travesty, another game that tries to capture a mainstream audience but I can assure you that no one will care. If the end result is indeed about Burnout frantics, this will end up like Front Mission Evolved and many others.

Just saw the trailer for this. Absolutely awful.. what were they thinking!?

Surely any good games company needs to know its titles audience and that trailer just seemed to scream 'franchise reboot'.

And the more I think about it, surely it should be Unbound? Unbounded sounds like something a three or four year old would say.

^I thought that myself, and even checked Google to see if it is really a word. I felt rather embarassed when I found out it really is.

They are actualy two different words with very different meanings.

Unbound means not tied down as far as Im aware which dosent make sense for a racing game.

Unbounded means it has things in abundance, which is probabaly a good thing to say about your game, if many people actualy knew what the word meant that is.
