I never knew that either, assuming it's true of course! I'm not totally convinced...

Remake did get ported - to the Wii! I suppose they could port it to the 3DS perhaps, though that's already getting 2 RE games. The fact it's only appeared on Nintendo consoles makes me wonder if it's a permanent exclusive? Or did Capcom figure Sony fans had been given enough variants of the original, which could be played on PS2. I'd have thought it could have run it, though perhaps not as well as the Cube.

They didn't program it all In-House , A lot of the Programming was done by the same Team that ported Resident Evil to the Saturn (Nextech)

I thought CV, especially the vanilla game, was kind of dull behind the fantastic visuals. I prefered some RE3 improvements such as real time stair walking, choices and the dodge. CV felt clunky and slow after RE3. Also, there was a LOT of backtracking going on here. More than in any other RE I think.

Then there was the issue with the unannounced character change, you could easily screw yourself out of your inventory there. Who didn't during their first run?

CV is also a game I could only accept on the DC. The Kanzenban release is the best version of CV around by far. Not only because of the performance, but the VMU as well.

It upsets me a bit, capcoms attitude towards these remakes. Yes, its great that these two titles are coming out on the xbox 360 and ps3, but what about the others? Yes, I understand that you can play REmake on the wii, but it'd be nice to be able to own the entire collection, ie 0-4 across one current gen format. Is that too much to ask for?

the dodge move in re3 i thought was great as i never was a fan of the slow rotation and movement in resi evil games but adding the dodge move negated the control problems for me

really really wished it was in 4 and 5 especially as there faster paced games anyway

I wanted a nice boxed game. Updated frame rates and polished textures along with a nice manual and all that.

I would have paid £40 notes for a lovely collection like that. I wont buy it from XBLA.

I do remember Capcom making some play out of the fact that they intended to make the whole series available on the GameCube. That didn't work out so well when the GC eventually fell into third place.

Would be nice if the PS3 RE:4 had move support, more chance of me pulling Scarlett Johanssen though I guess!

Cubes the best place for Resi. It has Zero, 1, 2, 3, 4 and CV so it's only missing the disappointing 5

There was a special edition box set for the Cube years back with all the resi's up to 4 which was amazing. I think a few people on this forum got their hands on it as well.

tbh I never noticed that much of a difference between the PS2 and DC versions and I hardly ever used the VMU life meter at all (to me the only game that mad meaningful use of the VMU was NFL 2k) . All I will say is to echo what I said before.

I consider CV to be the best in the series (and one of the best games ever made fullstop) and chuffed to bits its coming to LIVE - Just for the easy of use of being able to play this game again on my main console.

I would agree bar RE , Its missing the classic RE , I really never saw the remake as being anywhere near as good (I so missed the original music for starers) and I happen to think RE 5 was brilliant too , but like Part IV went far to much for all out action.

Wha? REmake is so much better imo. Yeah 1 was great at the time, but if you go back and play both at the same time the GC version is much more playable, has everything the PS1 version did and graphically is leagues ahead.

in Yours and that's fair enough . I loved the whole B-movie feel of the PS/Saturn originals , and the music and voice cast wasn't anywhere near as good imo. The music score in the Saturn and PS is simply fantastic to this very day

I'd agree that some of the music remixes in the Remake aren't as good as the original in some ways, as someone who owns both and played through both last year. On the other hand, the graphics are far superior, and the added stuff, like Lisa Trevor and the Neptune stuff was brilliant and added a lot to the game - the Neptune stuff was probably he best bit in the remake! Awesome stuff.

So overall, I'd say the reamke's the best, though obviously the original has the nostalgia and the cool live action stuff, as well as the edge in the music stakes. I'd say they're both worth getting!

Never played the Directors cut or Saturn version, are either of them worth getting if you have the original and remake at all?
