You'll get one Ninty slate with your Wii-U, you'll have to splash ?200 on top of the PS3 cost for a PSV/U.

Using the screen as the inventory for Zelda = cool.

Using it to see the ball placement in a golf game = cool.

Using it as the motion tracker in Aliens: Colonial Marines...

Weird reveal, but lots of games announced to go with it is always good.

Or is ok if it's on Nintendo U
Why was that directed at me?

Nintendo's site has a big pile of media now:

Also these hands-on impressions are well worth a read: http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology...-games-console

It'll probably be able to play DS games too with the top screen being on the telly, so it needs to be resistive for stylus use. And also you'll be able to use it on cold winter evenings with your gloves on.

                Shockingly bad conference.

Quick glance over the System specs shows it doesn't support Gamecube controllers.

Given the size of the front flap I'd guess there were two front facing USB ports to go along with two on the rear.

Apart from playing Wii games in HD I'm as ambivalent on the Wii U as I am with the 3DS. Until there is a game I want to play on it I won't be picking one up.

Boom Power7? Apparently an IBM guy confirmed that the wiiu will feature a power7 cpu. Source: engadget.com

Wasn't there a rumour a while back, that sony will be using a power7 for the ps4?

As is tradition, my write-up here: http://www.ntsc-uk.co.uk/content.php...erence-Summary

A point I raise, you know the catching-the-baseball and shuriken throwing tech-demos, do you not think that both of them would actually work better on Kinect? I think that was the problem with the controller for me, they didn't show anything that used the screen in a way that I thought "wow, I can't do that already" like when Wii was announced. Even if they put a map on it, they could just put that on my TV and it wouldn't make a difference to me, it's not worth building a console around.

The Madden example of selecting and drawing out your plays is the best example they gave. I can see the tactical 3rd/1st person games using the screen for a drone's camera.

It will have it's uses but if the Wii U is just going to be 90% ports and a few Ninty exclusives people will just stick with whatever primary console they've used in the past.

Are people really going to want spend 30 hours with oblivion holding a breadboard instead of a 360 cont or DS3? (if they have a choice)

What about a game where you prepare some food on the tablet itself (like a burger) according to instructions shown on the TV and then have to eat it for prizes in front of the tablet's camera?

I want a game were you eat scrambled egg off the thing.

Giving individual player "private" information in multiplayer is pretty big. You can't do that currently unless each player has got their own console.

I predict that this thing is going to be a riot in local multi.

They mentioned using it to call plays on Madden which increases the whole secretive/personal aspect of the controller, though you'd then need more than 1 for multiplayer. 'split screen' with the screen in your hand and the TV becoming the radar would be cool, but then as others have said, looks like they will aim for 1 tablet controller per wii u.

With multiple devices, I'm imagining some sort of advanced wars with fog of war, whole battlefield on the TV and your own personal view showing your army on the tablet...

                              IBM Power?-based multi-core microprocessor.
What does that mean, power PC? Does that mean it's a bit ****? I guess not since it's up to par with PS3/360.

                                I'm a bit confused.

If im laying Battlefield downstairs on the tv, can i then transfer it to the tablet and play while i'm having a sh1t?
