It's different for Nintendo as they've sold previous consoles at a profit.

To me Nintendo don't make/produce enough games In-House or have enough 3rd party support to make money of games sales with Console (non Handheld) hardware ware to that of the SONY or MS business model

For me it is very much a ait for Super Smash Bros, Zelda or Mario|Kart kind of affair right now. If they show they have more unique IPs that are decent and not shovelware I am sure to pick one up next year as it is still a great system and will have some games that are all about living room gaming.

Really because there are quite a few 'serious' gamers here .. myself included ... I'm not getting one because of the graphics
And in all honesty the real power of the WiiU is a complete unknown at the moment

I think Mario Kart will come first. Skyward Sword wasn't really that long ago (in Nintendo game terms), but MK Wii came out about five years ago. It's also one of the most consistent sellers Nintendo have - I was in HMV the other day and they were STILL selling brand new copies with the Wii Wheel for ?34.99. So it makes sense to get it out earlier and cash in over a longer period. (Preowned copies were a positively bargainous ?19.99 without the Wii Wheel!)
Although saying that MK7 didn't come out that long ago...who knows, really.

What troubles were those exactly? The Wii sold more than the 360 or the PS3, and Nintendo made a profit on every one. It didn't matter that it didn't have Assassin's Creed or Blops. We might perceive not being able to receive the most state of the art blockbusters as a problem as gamers, but ultimately market forces are what drives these companies' decisions.

Not being able to run most 3rd party games engines for their AAA High budget games .nd Nintendo made a profit on every one
I would put to you that MS is making a mint of every 360 sold and thanks to its wide spread support is also making a nice sum on royalties
It didn't matter that it didn't have Assassin's Creed or Blops.

Its all about first party and exclusives, Nintendo has a pretty big IP pool it can dip into so hopefully some of that will be seen, even if it means handing off some of the work to third parties.

The only option they have is to throw gimmicks and stuff into the mix. You'll have amazing innovations such as Kinect 2 to look forward to rather than 25x the raw power of what we have now. It's just not affordable, or even required.

It won't be blown away. It's not technically possible right now
Not unless they manage to cram a huge PC rig down to console size and get it to a $500 price point.
None of that is important to me , its about the exclusives with Nintendo so thats what they need to concerntrate onLast edited by Team Andromeda; 25-10-2012, 14:26.
