Let's not forget that there are loads of people who only own a Wii, if they all upgrade those games will become system sellers.

Other than Pikmin we are not going to see anything from Nintendo till at least 2014 at the earliest, and even then it may be well into that year. So you are looking at least 18 months till we get anything concrete regarding first party support. Otherwise we would have already seen those games in on form or another.
One way or the other Nintendo are going to have to rely on third parties for probably the next two years, so get used to it. I have no problems buying games on the WiiU that will be out on other consoles, that's no different to how its been in the last 6 years or so. It really depends on what you want to get out of the game.
For example I (probably) wouldn't get Blops II on the WiiU as its the multiplayer for that an my multiplayer chums are on XBL. However I could quite easily see me get AC3 on the WiU, once the price goes down from the ridiculous price that its at the moment.

I would be rather suprised if Nintendo themselves don't put out anything the system other than Pikmin 3 next year. If its anything it could well be what ever it is that Retro Studios is working on. I know this is said every year for the big three but i think E3 will be very important for Nintendo in terms of what they have planned for Wii U in 2013.
One thing i am much more happy about, compared to the 3DS and Vita at least, is that for me personally im well catered for, in terms of games, up until March as we know what will be coming out, beyond that obviously its a bit vague at the moment.

I'm quite surprised so many people are ditching their pre-orders based on the games not being 'system sellers'.
What I'm really looking forward to having and using a new console; we've not had one for like 6 years!! I want to mess around with the OS and it's features, have a look at the online and see how it works with the games, experience the gamepad and what you can do with it (and I don' mean stand in a queue and play for 10 mins at some show kind of way).
These kinds of things attract me much more than the idea than the games getting a 7/10 instead of a 9/10

In a way im also rather glad that Nintendo have not shown everything they have planned yet, its nice to have things to look forward. Just take a look on the Gamefaqs pages, Jesus some of the ****e people come out with on there is just insane. Nintendo arent stupid, they know what there doing and im sure they have learned some big lessons from the Wii.

It took less than a year for the likes of Mario Kart, Mario 3D Land, Star Fox and OoT to hit the 3DS, so I'm sure they'll have more than just Pikmin 3 up their sleeves for the first year.
Not to mention the likes of Rayman Legends and Lego Undercover in the launch window.Last edited by Party boy; 18-11-2012, 12:25.

For anyone concerned about that 4.5/10 score, Giantbomb's quick-look of ZombiU is a reassuring watch.
Aside from being a bit functional visually, and some nasty zombi in wall clipping, it looked pretty fantastic. A bit reminiscent of Condemned I'd say, the Zombi encounters were really nicely spread out, and the inventory and looting aspect looks well handled.
I've got Zombie fatigue though, and switched to the Nintendo Land bundle a coupla days back...

I've been reading and watching initial hardware reviews this morning.
No one's really complaining about the console itself; it's just a longer, rounded-off Wii. It's the controller that's getting the poor reviews. Joystiq, Engadget, Polygon and the Verge all agree that it feels a little cheap, the touch screen is a bit crap and the battery really does only last about 3.5 hours at the very most.
Considering the WiiU is all about the new controller, this is a little worrying. Especially the screen itself and how sensitive it is.... or isn't, as the case may be. Overall, nobody seems exactly blown away by the U, and that's quite worrying considering it's going to be around for the next five or six years.

I just found out the controller doesn't even have multi-touch, so you can't pinch zoom or anything that is now taken for granted since everyone has a smart phone. Pretty cheap move from Nintendo considering that kind of stuff is pretty standard now, and they are in direct competition with other systems which have that capability (3DS vs Ipad, Wii U vs Smartglass etc).
