Review round up, this is getting some huge scores. I'm trying to resist reading reviews in full because I don't want anything to be spoiled for my first play.

I am pretty gutted as I had tomorrow booked off but seeing as it has not turned up today I have no changed that to Wed off instead. Hopefully the postman arrives before 12noon but I also have a preorder at tesco incase its a no show as I never normally order online for games I want to play on relase but it was just too shceap on Amazon and I was banking on getting it early as thats all I ver see and hear!

Apparently Rockstar not recommending installing play disc for the Xbox360 version. Not quite sure why but its going to be a slight pain listening to the disc spinning in the drive.

Couple of people have suggested the way to get around that is to install the play disc to a external USB drive.

It causes a media stream issue if both discs are install to the same source.

The idea of being given the option to skip obstacles in missions sounds like a nice idea... Looks like everyone will be able to complete the game...

Polygon says the women are "poorly drawn" and Eurogamer say one of the protagonists is really unlikeable. Why Rockstar, why?!?! Don't you know what we look for in a GTA game anymore?!

I guess it's still relevant. They improve aspects and it would be nice to see them improving all aspects. Main character likeability has been very inconsistent, IMO, and certainly an area to work on. The guy from Lost & The Damned was a total pain in the hole, for example. Whiny and reluctant every step of the way. That's just not fun to play as. The main guy from San Andreas had some of that too. Others were more successful.

Hmm. Wonder if I should go get this at midnight launch at the local Gamestop, I have it pre-ordered.

Not much info in any of the reviews on the technical aspects of the versions. Guess there's little in it. Vids seem to show some frame skipping when driving but other than that it looks stunning considering the hardware.

Has anyone received there Amazon order today?

No sadly and a bit disappointed. Ordered using my phone and only standard shipping. Royal Mail did not deliver today even though Dispatched Sat. As people have said. Prob instructed anything that looks like a game don't deliver until Tues I guess. Hopefully will turn up tmrw.

Managed to play it today.

360 version.

It is a beautiful game, but the frame rate is really, really bad in the main city area. Judders along awfully. Pop up and textures loading slowly is also a bit of a problem.

But everywhere else I've been in the short time I've had it, it just looks amazing. The mechanics of it are a lot better than 4.

Kind of wish they'd saved it for next gen launch, just to make it that little bit better in terms of how it runs.
