Me too, I'm thinking of picking one up for my dad for fathers day. The only game he has ever played properly was leaderboard on the c64.

I have a motion plus Tiger game, the first one, and I must admit as fun as it was for a while, I personally prefer pressing a button 3 times to shoot.

never played it but i remember a while back there was a pc golf game which came with this weird controler where you had to to attach two elastic cords to each wrist and swing like you would a real golf club

          anyone else tried it ?

Golf games? I mean I've enjoyed Cooking Mama as much as the next person but given the relative ease/lack of effort Golf requires have you considered just buying a set of clubs and going outside? (Only an idea?)

I just wanted a decent xbox 360 golf game. Was it too much to ask?
John daly's pro stroke could've been a good idea, but failed miserably, the tiger Woods games are bloody awful. Links on the original xbox was good, but for me everybody's golf on the ps3 wins by a mile. Fun, and decent golf physics and rules. In tiger Woods, you can hit the ball up against a bunker lip or wall, and when you go to take a shot, you've been moved back! Also you can land the ball on the edge of a lake, but you hit it normally! Wtf? Why not try playing left handed shots and make the control hard for that one shot? I hate the woods games with a passion. They're ****e.

Have you considered Lee Carvello's Putting Challenge?

Love these replies. Somebody buff up his medal.

I actually do play golf. I play football too, but still enjoy me footy games.

Well Football is a bit different because running around is HAAARD! Also unless you're Derren Brown you probably don't have complete control over all the other guys on your team? With Golf though, you can just go into a random field and hit balls, the heads off flowers or just randomly club passerbys to death if you get bored of the Golf and fancy some Grand Theft Auto?

Let me like golf games without you getting all "go outside" on me, please. It's a bit tittish.

Golf is very hard to play and requires a hell of a lot of effort to play at a good standard. Smacking a ball in a field is not golf. Also the cost to play golf is much bigger than football, and buying a golf game.

Everybody's Golf series is definitely my favourite. I'm trying to hold out until the end of 2012 before buying a Vita, but the presence of Everybody's Golf 6 at launch is definitely testing my resolve. Had so much fun with both the PSP games and Minna No Golf 5 online.

Seem to remember quite enjoying Sensible Golf on the Amiga back in my youth.

Speaking of golf games and linked to the talk of Virtua Golf above, has anyone played Sega Golf Club? It was a PS3 launch title in Japan, but never seemed to get much coverage. From memory I quite enjoyed the golf section of Sega Sports Jam on the Dreamcast and wondered if the mechanics in Sega Golf Club are similar.

                            'You have selected POWER DRIVE'

Ha love that episode. Mario Golf on the good ol' N64 was a quality game and a regular multiplayer game back in my uni days. Beyond that my brother had Pebble Beach Golf on the Sega Saturn which we used to play loads, though whether it was actually any god or not I have no idea.

I'm partial to a round in Yakuza 4, which plays pretty well. Then a cab back, sauna, massage, karaoke and drinks, and a nice punch up to top it off. Can't do that in Mario Golf.

Great suggestions so far. Nobody seems to have mentioned my all time favourite golf game yet.

'Super Golf' on the Game Gear.
My Game Gear had the most use from this game and I used my Game Gear a lot back in the day. I absolutely loved this game, so addictive.

Aside from Super Golf, the second most fun would probably be 'Mario Golf' on the N64. Me and my brother where quite addicted to this.
