      Looks incredible.
      Bold claims in that trailer.

Puddles don't reflect moving objects - is this the Second Son engine? lol.
The online features sound cool but will uPlay ruin everything?

If this wasn't Ubisoft I'd have far fewer reservations.

Oh, and this is clearly never coming out on WiiU except as some kind of companion app.

Interesting banner on the US PS website:

        Watch_Dogs Page

Says that the PS4 version runs at 1080/60.

I thought all formats had been confirmed at 30FPS?

Yeah it does, an unlocked frame rate between 30fps and 60fps.
Only way to experience this is on ps4 apparently. Exciting.

Not allowing myself to believe the Ubi hype. Burned me too many times, so will wait for first play reviews here before buying.

I don't believe ubi. Variable 60 like tomb raider maybe.

Variable 30 more like. ACIV was 30fps. If this is 60 then the game is not the game that they're saying it is. Hope I'm wrong of course.

Variable 60 like TR would be incredible because that was 60 for over 99% of the time. Barely noticeable drops.

No it wasn't, unless you spent 99% of your time playing the QTE's of course.

I'd be surprised if this is 60fps, given that is uses the same engine as AC4 and probably pulls out a few more effects. It's probably the 2014 definition of 60fps which is slightly more than 30.

Ahh, well on a TV I wouldn't notice a variation between 50 and 60. It's drops to 30 that would be jarring. Rumbling around between 50 and 60 with no screen tear is absolutely fine for 99% of games apart from fighters. In. My. Opinion of course.

Thing is if a game is going to dip that much off 60 regardless of the platform in question I would much rather it just be locked at 30 anyway.

If it dipped to 50 or if it dipped to 30?

For me, solid 30 over dips to 45. Dips to 50 seem to jar less. Ideally just a setting to allow you to lock at 30 if you want, as some gamers prefer that to variable. As above I do not believe this is a locked 60fps game, but I suppose it is strange that Ubi would advertise it as such, if it wasn't.

If it dips between 30 and 60 in all honesty. It also depends on the game as well of course, but I don't have any issues with games running at 30 myself.

But then this whole obsession with resolution and framerates is getting a bit tired .. I am pretty sure nobody ever used to obsess about this stuff a couple of years ago.

Yeah, if a game is going to regularly drop to 30 then lock it at 30. Looks like TR dropped to 50 something on the odd occasion. In this case I'm happy for the variable framerate.

People care more about framerate and resolution now because we've got consoles that have got 7 years more advanced tech than the last lot had. It's natural for people to expect full HD I think and 60fps where appropriate. With some games managing to do both right out the gate the 1080@60 is something people hope for now. The awkward thing is IMO that to fully appreciate the full definition and textures etc. of a game in motion that motion needs to be at close to 60fps. Once it's at 30 a lot of the magic is lost. Seeing ACIV when it's not in motion it looks really nice but once it's moving a lot of the spectacle is gone. Tomb Raider looked absolutely gorgeous the whole time I was playing it.
