Don't worry Tickle, we only have another 5 - 7 years of it ahead.

The impressions have gotten me excited. The bitching and moaning over duration (on the wider web of gamers, not here) is what's narking me off. I hate the way gamers see length as this crucial metric of a game's quality. As if you'd go and see a film and when asked how good it was you'd say 'it was brilliant - it was over 3 hours long!'. It's stupid and it's counter productive for game design.

I'll take 2 excellent hours over 50 boring ones. Any day of the week. And ?20, really, is not that much. What can you do for that? Go have a meal for one at a restaurant (no wine), see one movie at the cinema and eat some popcorn, buy one new release Bluray. Hardly better value than this game, which from the sound of it contains many more than 2 hours of gameplay if you want to see everything.

I went XB1 cause of the extra missions and so on, but I may need to switch that...

they both have an extra mission the ps4 gets a retro deja-vu-mission

Metal Gear Solid and PlayStation are two brands that have been bound for greatness since the beginning. And isn't it fitting that, in the wake of the eighth Metal Gear game to grace PlayStation, we've decided to go back to the start, in a big, big way.

Is anyone actually surprised that you should go for the PS4 version? Isn't it already known by everyone that PS4 is more powerful? Besides, MGS has always been a "Playstation game". Also, sounds like PS gets the better extra mission (I f*cking hate platfrom exclusive s*** like that).

Yup, XBO version will likely be fine. Kojima has always preferred PS platforms and XBox versions were always a bit of an 'if we must' offering from Konami. A serious MGS fan has always had to go Sony, nice to see a day one option here though for once. PS4 for me though, don't want any Raiden spoiling my MGS.

Never mind PS4 and Xbox1, what'll it be like on PS3?

Is it coming to PS3? If it is I can delay my jump into the new generation even further, as there's no compelling reason to change yet.

Yep 360/PS3, Xbone & PS4, all four are catered for.

I'll be playing on PS3. Kojima did some make noises a little while back about it being pretty much exactly the same on last gen systems. It's not a compelling enough reason for me to upgrade - if it was exclusive it might be.

I'd rather have 1080p/30 on Xbox. Kinda weird that for a game that prides itself on its movie styling they are opting to make it all smooth.

I don't think they will ever do one minus the Kinect, I expect that the reservations for the Kinect will be able to be used for games.

I'm still getting the XBO version Much like BF4 and TR the differences are not going to stop me enjoying it any less and I like the XBO pad better.

I don't think anyone is remotely surprised that Kojima and Konami have favoured the Playstation consoles again. Can't say I'm interested in picking up any version until it's sub ?10. ?30 for a demo is hilarious.

Yes tickle i know they probably wont, that would be the ultimate U turn. Honest answer guys? 1080P60 or keep Kinect , if you had the choice, does it really add so much to the Xbox experience?

I don't think konami have favoured the playstations lol. Just came out that way.

Boris' preference for resolution over framerate is an interesting one. He makes a good point. I wonder if 1080 at 30fps was an option for xbox one? I imagine they went with whatever they thought looks best anyway.
