I agree ME1 is definitely my favourite even the resource gathering, which whilst very narrow in scope and concept at least gave you the chance to trundle about many of the planets you visit. Rather than introduce a different system for the later games they should have concentrated on improving and expanding that original idea as it would have been much more entertaining than the resource gathering in ME2 and, particularly ME3.

What I would like to have seen is better allied AI as the series developed. In fights far too often you either have to forget about your squad or the reverse: micro-manage.

Enemy behaviour has always been, I think, comparatively good. But so many times I've found one of my squad running around right in front of the enemy like a loon or refusing to move out from behind a crate or getting in your way just as you desperately need cover or using their most powerful special attacks on the weakest enemies just before you really need them.

The unnecessary rubber band effect also annoys; when you reach a certain distance away from them they move automatically to rejoin you. Maybe there is a reason for that but In some bigger combat areas it actually limits your tactics.

However when you can get your squad members to stay where you told them to stay it can work fantastically well. You draw the enemy on to Shepard and they cross the T your squad can be a really effective tool. It is very satisfying when, unlike some other games I've played, they can and do contribute significantly to winning a fight.

Bought ME1 and 2 off of my mate recently for ?1 a piece. lol

Then I bought 3 on eBay for about a fiver.

I would love to get stuck in to a decent (or so I've heard) science fiction adventure. Just need to do the Souls games, FFXIII (1-3) and replay games I already know I love.

;~;

Sweet jesus you lot. Just get and play the ME games in order.. Once you get past the odd graphical issue they are just great.
Golgo I was hoping it wouldn't be a collectathon and actually have some content. I seem to be collecting stuff then running into walls then getting killed.

I've never played Mass Effect but have probably seen the whole thing as gifs on Tumblr. Looks really good. Would like to play it some day.

Get it done.

In other news, I've been playing through doom 2 on the xbox one. Still fun and the same jump scares still get me.

I was thinking about it earlier and I think I'm confusing Mass Effect with Knights of the Old Republic, which was more of a turn-based RPG, IIRC.

Oddly, only the first two seem to be on Steam.

Black Mesa.

Expected more. The games great, the improvements are good, it's just too little too late. Had this come out 5 years earlier it would have been a massive success. Instead it's a dated remake.

From the sound of the leaks about ME: Andomeda the ground vehicle and planetary exploration for resources I thought should have been developed further rather than dumped are going to be put back into the new game. Yay!

Exclusively EDF4.1.

Incredible what the developer has done, this isn?t a cheapo HD makeover.

For example, Level 35 EDF4 now 36 on 4.1;
First wave;
EDF 4: Red and grey ants and small airborne gunships for enemies, you have Ranger?s for help
EDF 4.1: Red and grey ants, small airborne gunships and three Hectors, you have Rangers and Fencers plus mobile missile launchers

Second wave;
EDF 4: Red airborne gunships, red and grey ants plus ant queen ? no extra help
EDF 4.1: Red airborne gunships, red and grey ants, three ant queen?s (plus additional golden ant queen on Hardest), two dropships. You have two groups of Wing Divers and mobile howitzer?s.

The sense of battle is incredible, particularly on the second wave, the Wing Divers do a great job and the sight of the shells whizzing past hitting enemies is sublime.

Oh man, such a fantastic game, Ampanman! I've got 4.1 envy!

I was cussing my mate who flits from game to game to game (he has Fallout 4, but is longing for Star Wars: BF) whilst I do one game at a time. As he banged on about how he doesn't understand how I can play just one game for months, I drifted off into a daydream about playing EDF 2025! Wing Diver, in particular, makes you feel like a superhero, swooping up to the dropships, blasting them out of the sky, then swooping down to your comrades to assist with dealing with the ground assault. *sigh*

This week I are been mostly playing Lego Marvel Superheroes.

My son loves it and it's lovely to be able to play a game with him.
He gets genuinely excited when we win a new character and we can try them out.

It's a bit buggy in places though. On a mission last night and one character fell to a part he couldn't climb/jump out of - restart, another time a character fell off a cliff and respawned on a slippy bit over and over - restart. :/
Also the puzzles can be a bit nonsensical. Sandman has built a giant wall in Grand Central Station. The way to knock it down is by smashing a clock on a ticket booth and rebuiding it as a water jet. Eh?

Other than that, it's great. I love zipping around New York as Iron Man, it's awesome.
There are so many challenges to do and you can re-do the levels as other characters to collect more bonuses. I like that all the characters are in there, even some recent ones like The Red Hulk. Drop in/out is brilliantly implemented too.

Sorry, I'm probably a little late to the party and this is old news, but it's my first Lego game. I mainly love that I can play it with my son so effortlessly and there are so many characters in it.

Which other Lego games are good. Any of the DC games have loads of characters in? I like the look of Batman 3 because you can play Adam West Batman!

I have all 3 Mass effect games. 1 on pc, 2 on ps3 and 3 on wiiu. Not sure how it happened.

Not the best way to play ME either; you wouldn't have been able to import the Commander Shepard you created in ME into ME2 and then from that into ME3. It adds an extra dimension to the relationships in ME2 and ME3 when reacquainting yourself with the characters you met and helped (or not) in the previous games.

My Commander Shepard (Catriona) is, as you would guess, female and I've worked hard to make her as unique as the games allow. Mostly a Paragon of virtue but I deliberate choose the occasional hard-line, Renegade, action/dialogue tree to give her a bit of edge. Even if the actual consequences of the choices you make aren't any more sophisticated than the familiar good, mixed or bad endings with a single consistent Shepard spanning all the games it does feel like you are in control of developing the character.

Nearly exclusively Battlefront and Black Ops 3 thanks to how pick up and play they are. Love Fallout 4 but just can't focus on it so uninstalled it for now.

In an attempt to lighten and focus my gaming it will be:

-Absolute Drift
-Just Cause 3
-Tekken 6
-Super Mario 64
